Hawk Archetype at Catcher

Has anyone tried to use their ballplayer with the diamond hawk archetype at catcher? It says they can play every position but in game when hes at catcher he drops to common fielding and has no throwing accuracy. (his bar is tiny on steals) He has 81 fielding at SS and has gold there, and when i tried him at 2b he has silver, and then he has bronze at 1b and 3b. Does anyone know if SDS has explained why this happens?

Because this new system stinks.

There is no diamond archetype at catcher. So they'll drop balls all the time. It's broken, and still completely unaddressed by SDS. Cheers.

Well their hitting attributes won’t change no matter what position you put them in, but Hawk is a SS archetype, and maxed out he is a diamond. If you put him behind the dish and doesn’t have at least a gold badge then you can see that he is getting an out of position penalty.

Its just annoying and wild because in your lineup it says hes in a secondary, but the only secondary he can actually play is 2b. gave us a whole new system that don't work at all

Yeah, SDS really needs to address this. I create Josh Gibson every year, and while I've having fun playing as him in RTTS to switch it up a bit, it's super frustrating to not be able to use him behind the dish.

But they still offer you the catcher equipment in the choice packs.

What’s the best swing to put in my batter? Mondesi? Chipper?
Can we even choose our swing???

I use jorge posada but it's really a personal preference, i do feel like the players size compared to your ballplayers size does affect the swing a bit

You can choose your swing in appearance under animations. I use Ken Griffey Jr for my swing, lol

also if you're a switch hitter I would definitely choose a switch hitters swing because a non switch hitters swing wont transfer well to the other side

Alot of swings have unique no doubt home run celebrations to, they only work if you bat from the same side as the real life player. My player is a switch hitter and I get Griffey's cool walk from the left side but not from the right side.

Actually even if they still have the gold badge they get the out of position animations penalty as opposed to just the secondary position ratings hit.
