All right handed pitchers which is important to remember.
I suck at [censored] like this, but beat all the missions which was good because kopech and smith were a pain. I literally got no hits in the boss showdowns other than 3 solo hr’s. Smith especially wouldn’t throw anything out of the zone. I’m probably going to do one where I just skip to the end and see if he ever tires out.
Smith not throwing out if the zone:
So you can't work the counts and hope for a mental breakdown where he walks a few batters?
How good was he at hitting the corners/borders?
We're there alot of pitches low in the zone?
Guess I got lucky, worked 3 walks off him and hit grand salami to win.

Showdown is easier than last year, MUCH. But every now and then the AI will nerf your bat big time. I won 12-15
-
Just take pitches with Smith and you'll be fine

I went in down 15 - 8. I got one or two singles. I even tired him out with 12 outs remaining but couldn't do anything since his confidence was at 100%. I just can't hit this guy. I imagine it'll take me 5 or 6 tries.
Here's a guide to help people out: https://www.reddit.com/r/MLBTheShow/comments/na8pdg/2nd_inning_showdown_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb
Second try I went in down 15-13 and ignored my own advice. Swung early and often since his confidence seemed to be more important than his energy. Ended up winning the first time through my order. This game is pretty random sometimes.
-
I went in needing 9 runs. I just watched him pitch until 2 strikes and waited for all his energy to go away. After that he was much easier.
-
I went in needing 5 runs and my first seven batters got out. Calmed down and took some pitches and was able to put a rally together and pull it off with 2 outs left. He gave me fits in the final and the two other times you face him. Glad I don’t have to do that again
-
First try was I down 15-9. I ended up tied when I got my final out. Really annoyed losing so I tried it again and I was down 15-9 for the second straight time. This went a lot better. I won with 12 outs remaining.
-
Had more trouble with Kopech's fastball than anything Smith threw.
With Smith, just took a lot of pitches to wear him down.
-
The Mini Boss was worse then Smith failed it first try but was able to get it done 2nd try.
-
Kopech will hang his curve in the zone pretty frequently. Just need to sit on it. He hung it 5-6 times on me, and the first 3 got me bad because it plays well off his fastball and the speed differential is crazy. The last 2 were no doubters to back to back batters.
-
Against Smith I just took until 2 strikes with every batter until he was tired then started crushing the ball. With 20 outs he will definitely run out of energy if you just work the count
-
Did it second try today needing 3 runs with 1 out remaining. Hit back to back HRs to win it.

Had a Harder time with the Kopech Boss Battle. I'd be expecting that 102 FB and he'd hang a 84 curve and I'd whiff badly. LOL Failed it my first attempt. Destroyed him my second and went into Lee Smith down 3. Beat him with a Grand Slam with Matt Adams. Didn't even make it through my lineup once. He's Pretty easy. He didn't throw his Fork much which was good. It's pretty Dirty.
Pretty sure all moments even are against righties like someone said so go Lefty Heavy. That Ryan Klesko card let off and finished many moments by himself. I hit pretty well with Jason Bay as well which I heard was tough to do cause of his no stride, but with Strikezone 2, I barely noticed. Take the Diamond Brad Miller too. He Crushes all Righties. Got Stuck with the Silver Chirinos cause he was my best option at catcher till I got Sanchez as a backup. He's better against Lefties so not much help, but he held his own when I actually got down to the 8 spot. Yoan Moncada and the Silver Chipper are also good drafts. Switch hitters that hit Righties better. Colin Moran is a decent Bronze to start off with too.

I went through twelve outs where he didn’t get to a three ball count once...I was almost always behind, I he led at one point and there were 22 pitches in the zone to 5 out. I only swung at 2 of those pitches in 2 strike counts. He also didn’t get tired.
Thank god I had 15 runs.

Brad miller is a must take.
Kopeck was a PIA. Won with two outs left only had two hits which were solo homeruns.

I am going to SPAM this showdown. Skip right to the mini show down, earn a pack. Do three of the five missions to get some players and 6 runs and just work the count with Smith to earn another 3 packs.
4 packs and 2,250 stubs every 15 minutes is pretty sweet. -
The mini boss is Kopech. and you have to leave showdown and play some other games before facing him cause hitting 102 on veteran is impossible after dealjng with rookie pitch speeds for 5 challenges
-
This was by far the easiest showdown I've ever done. Miniboss and Boss moments were easy. Seems like they turned down the CPU defensive fielding as well. Lots of stupid mistakes by the game that would've been highlight reel diving catches in any other showdown.
-
Yea Kopech and his 102 fastball gets on you super duper quickly. Only took 1 try at beating this innings showdown. Had to do the Valenzuela 3 times.
-
Agreed. Only needed 1 try this one. The Fernando for me was way harder. His stuff will have you feeling a little foolish.
