I’ve heard a couple people saying there will only be 40 at all times. Is there any truth to this at all? It seems really stupid if so.

It makes sense if you consider live statistics a curve, rather than compare them to other years.

Like the top x% means diamond

I haven't heard this, but it'd make sense.

I dont think it's ever a set amount. A lot of times, yes, when someone goes diamond, someone will drop out. But that's not a hard rule. I know there have been times where SDS has pushed guys to diamond in an update without taking others out. The first time this year it was a 2-for-2 swap.

Only thing you can bank on is even if Tatis has the worst season ever after today he will still remain a diamond, sure as taxes

If Baez stayed diamond last year there is no possible way for Tatis to drop out of diamond

No, it will not stay at 40. Last year it varied a lot. Actually they added a lot more diamonds than they took away. By chance I guess it could stay at 40, but it would be that, just chance.

i remember in years past, if however many went down, there could be that many that went up. i dont know the number but i believe they balance it however you look at it.

Bryce had a pretty rough year when he was on the cover too. Must be a new Show curse
