Day 16 asking if the frame rate on Xbox one can be fixed or if it’s going to be this laggy and choppy while playing single player for the rest of the year

You are playing on a last-generation console, and this game was designed primarily for next-gen consoles.

I had similar issue with my Xbox one. Read up on it and clearing the cache helped a lot. Clear it by powering off and unplugging it for 2 minutes. Frame rate improved a lot.

it varies from stadium to stadium. i got use to it now. some parks play smooth while others do not. i think it also has to do with the crowd - large crowd may cause more slowdown.

but like i said i got use to it now.

Funny how they didn’t come out and say “this game was designed primarily for next gen consoles.. you might see frame rate issues” like next gen always meant better graphics but I don’t remember going from 360 to Xbox one and seeing frame rate issues like this.. also how come nba2k and fifa 21 are smooth? How come they couldn’t just use the ps4 mlb 20 version?

Thought they did say that a while back, that MLB 21 was the MLBTS for the next generation. I know they made clear that next-gen versions of the game had the stadium creator and that previous generation consoles did not.

Not having certain features is one thing but I’ve never seen frame rate issues this bad on any other game that was “designed for next gen”

Even the Xbox Series X version of this game has many noticeably big frame dipping areas. Even with my LG C1 OLED with the VRR on I get annoyed by them. Normally it’s a transition from hitting or fielding the ball to showing another angle. When in RTTS playing a position where the ball is hit to you sometimes it will dip way down in frames as well, and no I’m not talking about the slow motion part built into the game.

I chalk it up to a Sony studio releasing their first Xbox title. I’m sure they will learn more and more how to optimize the game on Xbox consoles as time goes by.

    SONY San Diego Studio's
Ever thought they want it to run worse on a Microsoft product. Just saying its possible. I mean apple was fined 25M Euro's for slowing down their OS on older products trying to get people to make the switch.

check your system. i had the same issues at launch but now it plays much better. I had the PS4 version last year too and it's almost as same as that. the only parts that dip w/ severe lag is cut scenes and if the ball is hit into foul play.

I feel for you. I started with the Xbox One and finally got my Series X last week. The difference is night and day, it's simply a different game on next gen. The hardware you are on is simply a handicap and I don't think they can fix it.
