Online ranked seasons not working on Xbox Series X!

Title says it all, finally got a decent team together with the cool monthly rewards. I was looking forward to taking my new team online, but matchmaking isn't working. It says "opponent found." Then I get the "challenge failed" message. Is it due to my location being in Ireland?
I've a Netduma router, can see on my geo filter that there is only American servers. Is there some sort of ping lock system in place that won't allow people with high pings to join long distance dedicated servers?

These aren't dedicated servers.
According to my Netduma, they're using dedicated servers in America.
