Everyone seems to be using all sinker ball pitchers. The meta kinda sucks. Havent seen a fb thrown in like 7 games
sinkers have been the meta for years. Its so annoying

I have a no money spent team and im really struggling in ds and cs games. For the most part im competing but the pitch speeds seem to really be quite significant past all star. Wondering if anyone else is struggling. Ive used every camera view under the sun btw.
I stopped reading after you said you have a no money spent team. What does you spending money or not have to do with your skill tracking the ball?
Well, it has to be way easier hitting on HOF with Chipper, Soriano, Ortiz, Banks and Finley. I imagine that is what he is getting at. Big difference between those players and people that haven't done collections are running out there. Pitching is way better this year too which is also makes hitting tough. You aren't getting near the cookies that were served up last year. You can be very successful if you know how to pitch.
I played 4 HOF games today and 3 quit in the first inning. I only scored on one of those games and didn't even hit in one of them. The one I finished, strangely enough, the only person that hit for me was Solak who hit 2 HR's and basically won the game himself and he is like 46 vision.
Yes thank you thats exactly what i was getting at with no money spent.

Yes the sinkers are very annoying, it should be easy to hit if its in strike zone and if u chase it should get weak contact. You cant throw fbs in this game to higher level guys. Ill throw one or two a game and it get smoked immediately. Kinda said that a fb is almost useless.

I see a lot of people are upset about people spamming sinkers or even the high sinkers. No offense but if you know what they are going throw, and the location, not hitting it is on you. Is it unrealistic, yes, but go to custom practice and set the location up and in for the high sinker. Learn to hit it once or twice and your opponent won’t spam it. Use it yourself when you pitch.
To people feeling that HOF is a lot harder this year, it’s not. Every year it feels a lot harder but I find the reason to be is because we are not using players with 110+ contacts at the beginning of the year. We are using players say around 80 avg. that’s a significant amount difference and changes how big the PCI is.

As I've stated many times on this forum before, I was a pretty solid prospect who threw a heavy sinker/2-seam as my primary pitch.
Sinkers up in the zone flatten out and do not have the same action. To me that's the problem. There needs to be a penalty, imo, for throwing high sinkers whether it be the ball action becoming less significant and easier to hit or there needs to be a bonus which rewards less than perfect swings against those pitches.
Based on my way too much time invested I think there's already something like this built in for high off speed pitches because whenever I connect with off speed up in the zone I feel like the ball just explodes off the bat.

First of all Finley has low contact there for his PCI is very small on Hall of Fame. Vision affects the timing window not the PCI size. There are plenty of grindable cards this early in the year that don't have tiny pci's. Sometimes the smaller the PCI the better then you don't get the foul tips and weak contact. I disagree with the pay to win no money spent nonsense. This year you can literally get BR and ranked season World Series rewards just for winning a certain amount of games you don't even have to be the best at the game it's almost a little too easy in my opinion.

While true I will tell you what the main problem is with the sinker and has been for years. A sinker should leave the hand on the same plane as a fastball. It does not. It goes above the hand enough to resemble an curve, screw, etc. So when you are looking at the release and see it go above the hand you immediately think off speed and generally have trouble tracking and hitting it. If it came out of the hand like it should (a flaw that has been in the game for years), the sinker would be easier to see and hit.

Please tell me you are not saying getting the collections done isn't a huge advantage. If it wasn't, people wouldn't do it. There is a reason most high level players won't even touch RS until they do the collections. They know it is a huge advantage. That advantage lasts quite a while.

Straight facts and that's also what I've said. It is not as dramatic as last year but still an issue IMO

Well said. Its just a flawed pitch. And i think someone else said that it should straighten out for high sinkers. If they put both of your ideas together i think that the problem would be resolved.

Sinkers that cut in to right handed batters are not what you want to swing at until 2 strikes sinkers flatten out in zone 2 not 1 or 7 , 8 is okay when not in a dp situation early in the count , you want the sinker to be up in zone 2 or 3 - 5mid or zone 6 and 4 is okay as long as it starts middle of the plate and sinks in to the zone but sinkers which start in zone 1 , 4, 7 you are going to have issues as velocity increases above 93mph
zones are this for a right hand batter vs right handed pitcher
1------2-----3
4----- M5---6
7------8-----9 -
Nice post. But i think the problem is late recognition between sinker and breaking ball. Once you get to hof the decision has to be almost instant for the reaction time of a sinker and if its a breaking ball ure gunna look awful. Same vice versa if you read breaking ball then ure gunna be late everytime when seeing sinker. This problem doesnt happen with fb. And the way to fix is to have the ball leave the hand looking like a fb when a sinker is thrown.

7------8-----9Just like you said. Outside sinkers are much easier to hit as you have a little more time to hit that to the opposite field. Inside sinkers are the main problem just because of the split second you think it is an offspeed pitch.
