My last pitching outing I threw 8 full innings of 1 hit ball with13 strikeouts and our team leading 5-0. Then the bonehead manager decided to yank me out of the game at 86 pitches. I could see this in a 1-0 ball game, but 5-0. This bug definitely needs to be addressed.

Exactly. The manager's "judgement" is anything but good. And even if I allow a single or something, if we're leading by 5 runs, the least he could do is let me finish out the complete game shutout.

I'm not allowed to go past 80 pitches, even if I've struck out 10 in 5 innings and in a tie game.
And my pitcher isn't tired.
