Honestly a lot are a joke.. I remember a guy last year saying he made $300k stubs on one evening of flipping. Yah that’s bogus

Except it’s not. I made around that much on launch week flipping equipment until SDS decided to screw me with stealing my stubs with their BS buy order glitch.

I have heard several streamers telling their people to sell certain cards like Cabrera to do collections. The only people that have collections done are:
    people that spent money
    flipped cards on the market
    got extremely lucky with pulls
great players that win 12 games in BR and events

Lets be real, This is not most of us and if you haven't done these things, you are not close to collections. I have played this game a ton. Did all TA's, last BR with a 9 win reward, 60 event wins, 18 RS games and out of probably 3-400 show, ballin and TA packs I pulled 3 diamonds worth 50k. I have bought some live series cards but not even completed one division. I'm not mad, this is just how it is. At this rate it would take forever to do collections and frankly by the time I get them done there will be 1st baseman on par with Ortiz.

So why grind 40 event wins for Cabrera and sell him for say 1/3rd of Acuna's price tag? Think of it this way, at Cabrera's current price you would have to play this event 7 different times just to be able to afford Trout. Wouldn't your RS team be better with Cabrera, 90 Donaldson, etc rather than paying them stubs to Judge?

I really started thinking of this after selling Donaldson, Lofton and Cabrera. Those 3 cards could get me Mookie. My RS team would be better with those 3 than a Mookie card.

Just a food for thought thread because I think the majority of people playing are in a similar boat to me and are far away from completing collections.

I think it’s more of a long run game. The beauty of DD is there’s many ways to build a team !!! I like collecting so I’m almost phone with LS collection.

I made 100-150K flipping on the market today, and the margins suck this early in the year. 300k in a night was definitely possible later in 20's lifecycle. I bought the game on November 20th and flipped my way to Mantle by November 25th.

Well it is possible but I’d have to say it depends when.. I had 75 Buxtons before the update. I bought the deluxe edition and put $100 in for stubs to get started. Worked my way up to about 550k in stubs. Then invested almost everything in him. Now I sit just under 1.3m. It’s possible for anyone to make stubs but it gets tougher as the year goes on. The best times to take advantage of making stubs is in the first week of the release and the first, maybe second roster update of the year. As time goes on watch trends week to weekend. Pay attention to what’s going on IRL baseball and watch a players WAR rating.

It's not, I've done it. It has been harder this year, but you will be able to make mad stubbs once there is a collection reward or rewards.

The thing about a card like Cabrera is it will be very high in price later because it’s limited. Event diamonds are good to hold on to. The Brooks Robinson last year after the event was selling for 10k toward the end of the cycle it was 110k just sayin.

i’ve done that before i had millions of stubs lol took only a couple hours you j don’t know how to flip fast. that was in 20 tho it’s different this year idk maybe cause it’s so early in the game and stubs are more valueable

I sold trout. After tax I got back 330k. Used that to buy all the LS diamonds for Phillies , Nationals and Mets. Had 30k left over

So essentially I traded trout to get 96 Glavine , 92 DeGrom and 91 John Franco. It’s situational I suppose. I got lucky and pulled Acuna early , bought Freddy. So to me trading one outfielder when I already have Andruw , Ronnie and TA Gallo for 2 elite starters and a good pen arm was a no brainer.

I don’t play the market for three reasons. I’m not a gambler and play it safe. I like to earn my cards. And finally, I’m a moron when it comes to playing the market.

Luckily with all the free stuff to earn from last years game, I was able to complete the live series collection and the collection to get Trout 99 card. I doubt it will happen again this year though.

You pulled Trout and Acuna. That would qualify as extremely lucky pack pulls. Going after collections is a no brainer if you pull those two.

I got Tatis out of my 650k xp live pack. I also went 12-1 in BR yesterday and got Hendriks and Cole on that run. Those 3 changed my mind and I will be going after collections just to do it. I guess I fell into the 12 win category. Something I couldn't do last year since my pitchers liked to throw constant meatballs in 20. I still need 5 diamonds to finish the NL west so I am still a long way from collections even with those 3. Not to mention you have to deal with the 40 man additions that do not have any cards in circulation.

I am 16 points from Brett and will not be selling him for collections. He is my favorite player of all time so I will be using him in RS for a while. He would probably help me finish the NL West and also do the AL East since I already have Cole but just can't sell Mr KC.

So you didn't get any good pack pulls? I find that hard to believe with all the stuff I have done in the game. You could have played a lot more than me but I did event, all TA's and the first BR run. I could probably have 3 divisions done if I sold everything but I would have no good pitching for RS and would be using people like Gallo which is extremely hard in HOF and above. I am at 650k xp. Even with those divisions I would still be looking at needing a ton of stubs for Trout, NL and AL east. I also did not do the sim glitch. I do not like CAP in RS. I would rather lose without one than win with one.

You do know you have to get all the way up to HOF first right? Takes awhile those cards are absolutely viable until you get there

So yesterday afternoon I was sitting at my desk after I just finished the BR program for Brett. Actually, got 2 low diamond pulls with the ballin cards which brings my total to 5 pulled diamonds out of probably 4-500 packs. All low diamonds. I sold those 2 diamonds which gave me enough to buy the 3 Padres, 2 dodgers (including Mookie) and Story. This is what I needed to get the NL West done but would leave me with less than 10k stubs. OK, so the west gets me Finley and 2 not so great relievers (imo) in Hoffman and Gagne. Still leaves me with 5 divisions including 2 very expensive ones in the AL and NL East. By the time I get these done it will be Christmas and my RS team won't be as fun or good.

So I said [censored] it and sold all my LS diamond except the ones I am using or may use like Seager, Tatis, Chapman (who absolutely sucks for me but dots against me), Williams and Bauer who I may try as a starter in HOF. Ended up with 448k. Bought Trout, Piazza and Lofton. I decided to get players I want instead of going after collections which would not make RS as fun. I have not pulled Trout in the 5 years I have been playing so I decided to get him. This card will be viable for most, if not all, of the game's life span. I don't care if I hit .100 I am playing with this card this year. Piazza has always had a garbage swing. I am hitting over .450 with 88 Perez including a HR in my only HOF game so far. I hit really well with this card. However, I want to play some with Piazza so I bought him. Lofton is a hit machine and a vacuum in CF. Yea, streamers say he is [censored] but they have collections done and caps. Lofton is a great option if you are not doing collections. Plus I like Lofton.

So I ended up buying 3 players that I like instead of working on collections. Win or lose, I will enjoy my team more. I also played my first HOF game and the guy had 17 hits. Over half were outside the pci. I took a while to adjust to HOF speed but also hit 2 almost dead center pci with Doby and Brett that went to the warning track, wtf? Ended up with like 5 runs and 10 hits. I just try to enjoy playing now with the cards I want and if I lose, I lose. I don't get worked up on stuff like that anymore. I figure I'll have a game I win where those things happen for me.
