On purpose?

So it has been a week and still no fix for not getting archetype credit through RTTS without doing the DD workaround. Which I do and have my two-way guy almost to diamond for both archetypes, currently playing in the majors, called up in August of his first year. I guess I should consider myself lucky I am not having some of the wonkier two-way problems other players have had.
But to get to the point, I think they have done this on purpose.
It explains the quiet.
History has shown that players will bend but usually not break. Just look at the various things 2K have forced their players to accept as the "new" way to play basketball.
So it makes sense, force a "bug" into the game that brings players over to DD to check it out. Leave it like that for a few weeks so that player anger recedes and people just accept the way it is. Then when you do fix it, you have a whole bunch of new players who will accept DD as something they can play.
While I have had fun with conquest (a little).
I HATE IT.
I hate.... having this two world bull$%^$.
..having a two-way player that really is not two-way.
..being a great pitcher that forgets how to hit and can't run because I have two sets of stats.
..being in DD with a sub-par guy that NEVER gets above 65 even though I am 75??
..being forced to play DD to gain archetype even after they fix it because if you don't do DD then your only making archetype progress twice as hard. (You jackwads rigged the points system, I see what you did there)
..being put into play that I just really really don't ever want to do.
..collecting cards, I am a 50-year-old man, I just want to play ball and by that I mean I just want to play the guy I created, how I create him in the way I want to play him. I don't need your help nor direction to have fun.
..the amount of wasted time trying to swap archetypes ect I could have played a whole other season by now.
I don't want to play against others who just quit after you bang one out of the park, I don't want to play with a bunch of retired or current players and their "cards". I have zero interest in any of that. And while I admit I have had a tiny bit of fun with conquest, I just would rather not, ever, set foot in DD, ever. But they are not really giving us that choice are they? Even though they said they would.

Agreed on everything, especially that I’d rather not ever play DD again.
Been saying for a week now,.... it FEELS deliberate. For a ‘bug’ to magically hit like this the very year they tie RTTS to dd and very little word on it for the first few weeks (including early release etc) just feels dirty. They’re getting people hooked into dd as much as possible before ‘fixing’ RTTS.
Side: it’s amazing that some still go around acting like you can max your RTTS player out with 50s in every stat in like one day and you’re some newb moron if you can’t... ive been grinding speed and now power all week on beginner just to get my guy playable. I get stat boosts every game that move the overall so little it’s taking an entire season to move the power one point... but apparently you can max it in one sitting... Lol. This also makes it hard because the only real way to get your guy good at all is through archetypes that progress SO MUCH faster in dd.... which again, is totally on purpose.

Something has gone wrong. Planned downtime is now every day, and right when I have the time to play (from the UK it's about 9:00am to early afternoon - then I go to work)
But I don't really want to play anyway because RTTS is the only mode that interests me.
The SE has been out 2 weeks as of tonight and the progression bug was being reported here within hours of it coming out. Even if it wasn't bugged it's horribly slow to progress and hobbled by the "dress up game" mechanics. Swapping your clothes and cards changes your player type completely between games. I'm not sure they could make a more immersion breaking feature. Not so much progress as "playing dress up"
Until it's fixed I'm not that interested in playing anyway. And if they don't change the "Clothes and cards make the player" mechanic this will be the last MLB I buy. Playing the old NCAA game at the moment - and while its graphics are rough and the animations are very out of date - overall I'm loving it. -

Yeah I asked someone about this They told me it was "Easy to hit at .800 and get 150 homers a season on the easiest level"
All I can say about that is, they are a very very different ability of player to me.
Part of the reason I play RTTS is because I am TERRIBLE at the game. I can't even see the ball above Veteran level (literally cannot see it) I'm in my 50's so I'm never going to "get gud" - cause I already "got old"
So I play solo play RTTS. Play it my way. (easy mode - and I don't care what anyone thinks about that. I have not the tiniest bit of self wroth wrapped into how well I can play a video game. If you are much better than me. Great. Good for you. So what?)
Because that's how I can enjoy the game.
Or "Used to be able to enjoy the game"
Because this year it has been a really poor experience. And bugs aside, the fundamental changes they have made to RTTS have ruined it . So even after the bug fixes, I doubt I'll play again. -

So even after the bug fixes, I doubt I'll play again.I’ve been playing this game for years and usually do dynamic and it usually maxed out on legend for most of my games. If nothing else I’m really good against the cpu... ive never come close to stats like that. The big thing was the idea that maxing your players core stats in RTTS is too easy and can be done in one sitting or you’re a moron.... lol whatever... RTTS clearly take way too long to grind up the core stats as dozens of threads and even SDS’s own media releases show
