lol showdown is a JOKE
SDS really turned the sliders way too hard
they have 0 consistency in their game playing modes - don't call it veteran if it plays like Legend on Steroids
really poor execution on the gaming devs end
this, cmon SDS get this [censored] straight

@drunk_wizard509 said in Showdown Post-patch:
They should just change showdown difficulty to rookie, that would probably help
They don’t even need to do that, just set it to actual veteran instead of veteran pitch speeds with legendary bs and sliders.
-
@maskedgrappler said in Showdown Post-patch:
They could always have it play like veteran when they say it's on veteran.
Right. It has the pci of hall of fame but it’s veteran.... I breezed through to the last showdown every attempt, lost some won some.....
I’ve tried 3 times and can’t get past Nola today. I hit multiple good good/squared up right at the OF like last year and hit two perfect perfect fly balls 20 feet short of the wall with Soto and Eric Thames.
As for conquest I didn’t notice a difference, played on veteran and score 10-15 runs in every game I played but one. The difficulty sliders are what is screwed, and the pitchers paint the corners the whole time with off speed, when in other veteran modes they consistently get most of the plate with any pitch....

I'm still able to beat the AL West Showdown while jumping straight to the Verlander battle with Trout, silver Seager and a bunch of bronzes
You are the new ahearn of this forum.
Just some no lifer sitting here pontificating how easy something, except the rest of the world seems to be having a hard time.
What a sad and annoying man you are.
You're just angry because I don't struggle with this game or game mode and you do. I work 40 hours a week, have a family and a social life FYI. Keep being angry friend, I'm totally fine with where this game is right now.
Actually you know what, you’re talking constantly about how you’re the best and don’t struggle.
Show us a picture of your team with all these FOTFs on it. Prove to everyone you’re the best around.
Lol I don't say those things at all, all I said is how I feel showdown is fair and great and I don't struggle with it at all. That being said, I don't have to prove anything to you my man. I don't care if you think I'm a good player or not, maybe one day we'll match up and you'll find out for yourself.
Ah of course. You’re a liar, you actually haven’t beaten these showdowns like you claim.
You talk all big and can’t prove it. No one here should respect your opinion at all, because you’re making it up the entire time.
Haven't heard from you in a while? You okay?
-
I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but I’ve hardly seen a difference. Beat the AL West showdown today (I actually struggle more vs Ohtani than Verlander)
Also played NYY on Allstar to get Granderson and won 9-1 while playing gold clash on my phone

I believe him. There are people who are good at this game. Nothing wrong with that.
The difficulty I have is when these people think they represent the average and make claims of things being easy or not very difficult.
I did well in math. I could sleep through class and still ace exams. From grade one all the way through to my masters. It was just easy. For ME. No way would I ever think my lived experience was the same for everyone else and telling others who struggle that something was easy would be massively disengious to them.
-
Does switching to directional help with showdown? It does for moments
-
just played a showdown losing in the final moment tied because the last 6 outs I made were perfect/perfect, good/squared up, or good/good. Why is that a thing?
-
It's pretty obvious that this is the reason why they patched the hitting. They don't want people skipping to the end for every one of these.
-
The game was fun when you can beat challenges.
-
Idk maybe I'm an anomaly but I was 0-3 in first boss battles pre patch, 2-0 in final boss battles post patch

I think they saw how people were 'exploiting' it and unlocking the FOTF cards extremely fast.
So they 'adjusted' the difficulty.
They did the same thing last year (adjusting something that was exploited) when people were hitting 600 Stars in a matter of days.
And dont get me started on the whole 'play vs CPU for days' fiasco right before new innings were dropped.
I dont believe in ' conspiracy theories' and I like how some users post videos showing ways to earn rewards; but I think that is why hitting was adjusted.
Back, I forgot about the maintenance last night and ended up getting kicked, on my final game, for the Granderson 14 H 6 XB moment. When I was kicked, I was one hit away
I had to restart it this morning and I've attempted it twice so far; getting a grand total of SIX hits in 18 games. Thats BS.
I wasn't crusing through the showdowns before the patch, but i was winning them at a pretty reasonable rate, now in my last two showdowns that i have won i have had 1 out remaining as opposed to 6 or 7. It definately got tougher. I think they made it harder so they get people to play march to october, the mode they were proping up as the best way to get affinity points, but no one wants to play 8-13 hours in that mode, it's faster to do showdown and only takes about 30/ 40 minutes if you beat it.

Then why not patch the ability to skip to the end out of the game instead ? Makes far more sense to do that than nerf the hitting that much.
-
They made it so much easier with the extra runs given, wow.

The difference is that even though you might NOT have the "natural talent", which you apparantly have with math, you can still put in WORK and EFFORT to pass that same math class. You as a natural just do it with more ease.
Same rule applies to this game or anything else in life for that matter. Things don't come for free most of the time. You have to work for it. Natural talent is an exception. Put in the work and anyone can succeed. -
