The sad thing is, the stars were directly in connection with xp last year, what makes it so tough this year is the ratio of what we get. Last year the showdown gave 100 stars which was 30% of the 300 needed. Now it gives you 35k xp which is 10% of the 350 k needed. Things like this just tick me off.

I thought not being able to play due to servers crashing was bad, I just learned that we will not be able to go back and do Conquest, Showdown, Moments, etc for 1st Inning credit once the Inning is over. I do not have time in my life to play the game all day every day, and have always counted on being able to go back and finish certain aspects of an Inning after it ended. More disappointment piles up for me and this game franchise. I would never have purchased the game had I known this. I do not recall SDS mentioning this before the game came out.
Are we sure that SDS has not become an EA affiliate? This is the kind of nonsense that has lost EA their reputation.
My only question is...why didn't they mention this BEFORE release?
My only question, what company has ever marketed their game or any product by highlighting the aspects that potential consumers would not like?
Didn't say they had to highlight it...but they reveal and explain the different modes ...so it should of been mentioned
Those videos are pure marketing, especially this year since the "streams" were all just pre-recorded videos.

If you take XP to stars from gameplay last year it was 1 star every 2000XP. 300 stars=600k XP. Just because the 1 time boosts aren't as good doesn't mean it's harder to get the inning bosses. They actually want you to play the game this year instead of just doing the bare minimum for stars and getting to the boss

Anyone that saids its easy to finish things on here is insane! I have a job! 8 hrs mon to Friday! If u want to play h2h and get to world series that is 9 inning games that take min 40 mins or more to play 1 game !! 1 game let that sink in. So how does one play a ton of h2h! Grind showdown? Moments? Flip cards on a slow market ? Events? And so much more all on a ticking clock ? Each thing we do has most a month to finish it. U know how fast that goes by if u try to do some of those things! Battle royal takes time. It all takes time. So yes first inning should always be allowed to work at it. In my opinion

Let's be real here, Ultimate Team modes are all designed the same. You have to give something to get something. You can put in the time, the money, or a combination of the two.
To request the game be catered to your specific lifestyle and time constraints is a bit ridiculous. It you don't have the time, money, or combination of both to get what you want that's unfortunately a you problem.
You can accept it and enjoy what you can get out of it, or find another hobby that doesn't frustrate you so much. I've accepted that as an adult in his 30's with three kids, job, extra curricular activities, etc. I am not the target demographic for the game. With that said I'm almost to 300k XP and enjoying the game so far.

All bosses last year were available in the 11th inning program so of u didnt get them early in the cycle u could still earn them later.
I like the idea of expiration on inning programs, it help hold the bosses value and make the honus collection more difficult this year for people who dont start early.
I play less than 8 hours a week (about 2 hours a night, 3-5 times a week if im lucky) i have no problem getting thru programs.
Im only about 6 hours in this year and already have 150k xp even with laggy servers kicking me constantly. At this rate i should be done with a week to spare.I never liked that people who pick this game up discounted in a couple months can just catch up in a couple weeks and be equal to someone who grinded for months.
Not everything can be fair to everyone and i dont think this is going to really hold to many people back in a couple months. The only thing it makes harder is the ultimate collection but it should be really difficult and especially if u dont start early in the cycle.
Still tons of good free cards available without inning bosses so its really not much of a money grab just a way to increase value and rarity of some of these cards. Innings bosses shouldnt be a 3 hour freebie they should be difficult to earnLol. No way you got 150k xp in 6 hours without doing some type of glitch.

Some of you really need to explore UT from different games to see just how good yall have it with MLB lol
You're like some of the kids I coach who complain about how rough their lives are while getting picked up in a 2021 AMG and going home to a $1M house while their teammate takes the bus or gets a ride with me to their 1 room apartment they share with 3 siblings.
-
Lol. No way you got 150k xp in 6 hours without doing some type of glitch.
If i had a glitch id share the wealth lol im definitely not good enough to find an exploit. Im not counting the couple hours wasted getting kicked from server but ive had game since last Friday and had about 6 hours of gameplay count so far, finished a few collections and knocked out a bunch of moments and the 1st inning conquest, showdown and davis collection and im just below 150k. Idk if im doing anything special but it doesn't feel like it, just playing and seems to be adding up quickly for me

This thread is shaping up to be an all time classic. Keep up the good work gentlemen!

It’s the 1st inning of a year long program! Let’s just take a step back. What’s to say they won’t adjust the XP ratio down the road in future inning programs? For all we know, they may be using data from the MLBTS20 1st inning when a lot of people were either furloughed or working from home due to COVID and knocking out the program in a matter of days. Just have a little faith in SDS... or at least a little more faith in them than we do the servers.

In EAs defense, unless it's a rare limited challenge... the programs and rewards from programs do not expire. You can still go back and play solos from programs that came out at launch still right now on MUT. Another thing is that the servers on MUT have NEVER been as pathetic as The Show is so far this year. EA ruined their reputation from being money grabbers and making microtransactions the #1 priority in the game. MUT earned close to a billion dollars in microtransactions last year... The Show will never even come close to the popularity of Madden and FIFA, especially when they can't even figure out how to get their servers to work consistently or play a ranked game in a home stadium without unplayable lag. The Show to Madden comparison is like trying to compare a Ferrari to a Ford.

Except the gameplay for Madden and NHL has been bad for years; what’s the point of grinding rewards in a bad game?

It's not necessarily bad, but it's a cheese fest playing online... but that is just as much to blame the players. Everybody is youtubing glitches to win games. At least it's playable... was very excited to take a nice 4-5 month break from Madden to play The Show this year and it's literally worked 1 night this whole week. I have been playing Madden for a very long time and whatever baseball games have been good... I don't ever remember an EA game straight not work at all for a week straight... especially not at launch, it's just sad at this point with the Show. I'm just saying comparing SDS to EA as far as servers and revenue is Ferraris to Fords... I mean how much fun is The Show for you today?
