For those advocating taking pitches in showdown

Yeah, the point is just auto-taking to two strikes with every hitter is not going to work every time. Maybe the next time I face Luzardo, he’ll walk the first 11 batters (but I doubt it).
Sometimes playing this game leads to doing things you would never do in actual baseball, which is a bit of a downer but
️.

The point behind that strategy is to have the perks that give you boosts when you’re behind in the count and in 2 strike counts. If you don’t have those perks on it’s kind of pointless.

I had those perks. It hardly matters if you’re behind 0-2 and 1-2 for the first 11 hitters. I would argue that the maxed out pitcher’s confidence in 11 straight disadvantage counts far outweighs a pci size increase or an exit velocity boost.
Maybe if your pci placement is really good and you can get the ball on the dotted pitches and lay off all the junk, it could work, but if you are good enough to do that, imagine what you could do when ahead of the count with the pitcher rattled.
For the average player, I think swinging at good pitches to hit earlier in the count might be a better approach.

I totally agree with this with the exception of the first pitch. They seem to nerf your swing on the first one.

I try to only swing first pitch if my hitter has that “first pitch hitter” perk, otherwise I agree.

I would have advocated for this in precious years but it’s just longer + doesn’t work and when you need to do 50 showdowns you take what you can get in terms of time saving

The only batter who should be taking pitches is the 1st - 1st batter of the game , can take strikes to see how the pitcher likes to throw in certain counts. And the other take is the 9 hitter on 3-1 count if the pitcher is pitching ball strike and he is trying to roll over the lineup everyone else in a baseball lineup should be working the count not automatic takes, You gave a major league pitcher 0-0 takes he will destroy you. If you want to take the 1st pitch with nobody on the first time through the lineup its okay but only recommended if you are swinging at balls on 0-0 counts with non power swings that's a problem in your approach at the plate.

This guy gets it. Your plan of attack should vary depending on the perks you get. It’s that simple

I also recommend the "Hero Time" Perk for Boss Missions. Significant Exit Velo and something else, contact maybe, after the 7th inning. Perk is in constant effect during Boss Missions.

Taking pitches this year doesn’t work. Last year when you had 20 outs you could wear down the pitcher. But these showdowns are way easier then last year. No all-star difficulty sinkerballers
