Can't sell a player because he's in lineup

Ight so I'm trying to sell Kirby Yates and replaced him with 42 Mariano Rivera, so I want to list him. BUT, everytime I try to list him it says "the item is currently in use. If you wish to sell it you must unequip or unsquad it". How do I unequip/unsquad this player even though he is not in my teams at all? Thanks guys

Go to manage squad , replace Kirby Yates with anybody on your bench, put kirby on bench , then go back to market and sell .

Just go to events. Not in game because it dont work, but should be pretty easy to find. Under multiplayer. Events, click like you are gonna go into your squad and it will have cards pre loaded. The card you want to sell is probably there so just replace it with someone else.

I’m pretty sure it different this year. In years past, as long as you didn’t actually submit the Events lineup, it wouldn’t be considered an actual lineup. This year, my cards were considered “squadded”because they were selected in the lineup that was still in progress and wasn’t submitted yet (I had no intention of ever entering the event). So I entered the event with a bunch of junk players and that fixed my problem. I never had that happen the past 3-4 years, so that seems new.
