Last year I was all over mantle and FotF players. This year everything seems so meh, Sheffield and Mantle were great. Biggio did suck a bit. I feel like the best 42 players were in the preorder packs.

I finished it last night and Soriano and Ortiz takes... I can’t hit with chipper tho but I’m sure I’ll get there

The big 3 are fine. Chipper will rake. Ortiz was a phenomenal hitter for me last year, just no defense. Soriano is very intriguing. The thing that turns me off about these sets is the rewards. Stub reward for completing each team is pathetic and the lack of xp for completing sets this year stinks. Also what the heck am I supposed to do with some of these low golds as the set rewards? Kiner, I'm looking at you. I've only been playing 3 days and many of those rewards aren't even bench bats. I'm going to attempt to go NMS also.
Legends and flash back collections those rewards card will be need to get the big reward who I think will be Hank Aaron as he was the live series reward
Yeah I know they help with the rewards later on and the bigger sets, I just wish some of them were usable on my team. An 81 or 82 overall is an underwhelming reward for collecting 40 cards, some of which are 85 and above. So the set requirements are much better than the actual reward.
I mean every year has some duds in those collections that never get used there are 85-87 that aren't used

I'm absolutely still interested in finishing collections. I'd be interested even if the only reward was a crappy common that I'll never have any reason to use. I enjoy the collection grind almost more than actually playing the game, and I'm an obsessive completionist so I must have everything whether it helps my team or not!

Not uninterested, but not in a rush either. It will come naturally as I play the game and I don't really care how fast that will be.
That's exactly how I feel as well, I'm in absolutely no rush at all just collecting the golds and below and if I get the diamonds later on then terrific.

May be useful in events but yeah some are underwhelming.

Same. It took me about a month to get Mantle last year, but I’m not that interested in finishing the live series collection this year. Instead, I’m going for that 99 Jackie and all the 42’s.

I will not tolerate any Craig Biggio slanderLOL I rolled with Biggio at catcher for a long time. He could not hit for any power but he could get base hits and the one catcher that could actually run. Most of the catchers last year had like 15 speed.

I worked so hard in 19 for Mays and 20 for Mantle but this Chipper? Meh... he didn’t make my end team last year whereas Mantle and Mays were mainstays all year.
I’ll finish it eventually but I’m in zero rush to get the LS done. Rewards apart from Soriano aren’t worth it IMO. Ortiz is nice but there’ll be over a dozen great options at 1B in no time
I hear what you're saying, but this year's Chipper is lightyears better than last year's Chipper. Add the +5 for parallel 5 to his attributes and he's undoubtedly one of the best hitters in the history in the game with gold fielding and 70+ speed. Not to mention the switch hitting, the great swing and the fact that he's able to play SS which is always a lacking position for great bats.

Power numbers are way better, defense is 80+ at parallel 5 and therefore a gold fielding badge and also the speed is better. So he's better than Immortal Chipper once you have him at parallel 5.
