i need a tip regarding the pitcher
-
How do I learn more than 3 types of pitches in a pitcher in road to the show game mode?
-
Good question, I dont think anyone knows.

From what I understand you will get the chance for 4 and 5 once you reach the majors. But I have only seen one guy do that, most are ending up spending years in the minors. I think the advancement system within a franchise is broken because of the 2way player stuff. If your a pure pitcher or player then maybe you can get to the majors faster idk.

This is something that has confused me. So at one point I tried out the two-way player thing. My centerfielder loadout made my overall 57. My pitcher loadout mad my overall 61. So I am 57 when I field but 61 when I pitch. Getting called up is based on the overall level. So which one determines that? How can the game know when to call me up when I am simultaneously two different levels?

Your guess is as good as mine lol. The whole system is an abortion. Everything is borked from advancement to archtypes to getting called up. I honestly cant think of a game that tried to make a major change like this and got it so terribly wrong, everything wrong.

Name one change they got right in RTTS? The most popular mode. And who the hell are the folks they said have been asking to combine DD and RTTS for years? Seriously I want to meet one of these guys and....

The only thing that comes close in recent sports-game memory was when players told Madden they wanted a story driven career mode and got an interactive movie based around a game show. But at least that mode functioned.

I noticed Hair looks pretty nice this year, when editing the appearance, haha good for a baseball game when you are always wearing a hat...
For real though, they screwed this mode up badly! Probably to late to hit ctrl-z?

The gameplay and graphics are pretty damned good overall, with the exception of the the check swing thing (my opinion). But I guess those aren't RTTS specific.
They got rid of the "personality" stuff. Maybe this was toast in 2020 (I skipped that year, so comparing to 2019) but the whole "Captain", "Maverick", etc. with perk trees - that was [censored] so losing that is improvement by subtraction.
I noticed in 2021 you do have relationships still - and that as you improve your cohesion with your teammates, it improves your on the field attributes. Again, maybe that's from 2020 but if it's brand new to 2021 it's pretty cool.
I'm pretty disappointed in this year's version. But those are a few things that they appear to have gotten right.
