Mystery disconnect issue

While playing BR, right after hitting a go ahead HR in the top of the 5th inning, my game froze as the next batter was walking to the plate. The screen also said "waiting for Vegasliving42" I thought maybe he had DCed but the game just hung on this screen for about 5 minutes. I figured I had started my first freeze off of the year (in just my 2nd game played) but then suddenly I see a generic THE SHOW loading screen and I'm given the loss and sent back to the BR home screen. I wasn't DCed from the servers or anything, but someone I was given the loss in a game where I was leading.

I know The Show is always riddled with connection issues, but this is a new one on me. I'm just getting started this season, so I don't know if this one is common or not. Has anyone else experienced this?
