Exactly. For the sake of argument let’s say there were too many no swing check swings last year. I don’t think the solution was to make it nearly impossible to check swing this year. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve gotten a no swing called on me this year.

Exactly. For the sake of argument let’s say there were too many no swing check swings last year. I don’t think the solution was to make it nearly impossible to check swing this year. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve gotten a no swing called on me this year.
I do think a change needed to be made for online player’s sake. They just went too far.

This isn’t an arcade style game. It’s a simulator. It’s supposed to be realistic. I don’t play online, so I don’t have issues hitting. I just want a realistic game above all else. Every single check being a strike is not baseball. Remove the check swing all together if you’re going to make it unrealistic.

And this dude, folks, was probably one of the worst offenders of the check swing cheese from 20. Gtfo!!! It was terrible last year. And if you say otherwise you were the problem. See ya

Oh there is realism, the check swing mechanic is based on the input. If you press and release fast enough you get a check swing. All they did was tweak the slider to make it much more sensitive. Guess you’ll have to develop an eye at the plate rather than guessing fastball all the time and getting bailed out when it’s a tunneled slider and you’ve already committed to the swing.

I actually preferred the check swing to be removed as well, but if they wouldn't then I'm perfectly happy with the fact that now almost every check is a called strike. Just don't tap the button and it'll be called a ball 100/100 times if the pitch is out of the zone. The return of balance in this particular mechanic outweighs your sentiment by a few million miles.

That’s not balance. That’s just broken in the other direction. I’m calling for balance. They should figure out how often checks are called swings in MLB and go with that.

Thats strange because I can confirm to you that I’m still able to checkswing.
So can I, it’s all based on the amount of pressure you’ve applied to the swing button. If you come off it fast enough you get a check swing. It’s stops all these no skill kids from sitting fastball and actually fully depressing the swing button then decommiting afterwards when they realized they’ve been fooled. If you’re complaining that it’s not realistic then you were the problem and you just don’t like the solution.

That’s not balance. That’s just broken in the other direction. I’m calling for balance. They should figure out how often checks are called swings in MLB and go with that.
Or they can take advantage of the haptic effect of the new controller and be able to take that info and incorporate it into the games slider to give them the feedback necessary to determine swing or no swing. All based on the amount of pressure that is applied to the swing button.

As usual this is what all these discussions boil down to. People like you creaming your pants over how awesome you are at the game and anything that might go against you is because a scrub, who is beneath you, took advantage of some glitch or bug or RNG. It’s a tiring argument. You guys might be the best video game players in the world. Still doesn’t mean your entitled to win every time. Get off your high horse.

I'm happy with the change. It forces people to really learn the strikezone as opposed to just bailing out every pitch. They could knock it a touch more in favor of the batter (give me 50/50) because we've essentially switched roles, but overall I'm happy with the change.
