Ranked Seasons- Injuries are ON

ICYMI.
I smacked Josh Taylor in the face with a line drive and knocked him out.
Personally, I like it. Forces people to have more than one C rostered. In addition, I'll particularly enjoy smashing pitchers regularly.
For runners, maybe all the those extra step leads will result in injuries for diving back after 35 pick off attempts.

This will have to be tested but back when they had injuries on in 17 if you didn't have a backup catcher it was impossible for your starter to get hurt. We will see how it is but I expect it to be more of the same

Cool! They wanted competitive gameplay that's part of it.

I don't ever recall that logic. Programming wise, it's not a condition they would implement. They can't have injuries on for all except one position.
They'd have to have a specific injury type only available for C which is stay in game.
Ranked Seasons etc, all use the same sliders available to us when creating a friendly game. Obviously there are tons more behind the monitor, but this one is a simple, '"injury on/off".
Right now, it's on.

Well... No backup catcher for me this year like in 17

Behind the scenes logic is just that - behind the scenes. We’d be surprised what they would do programming-wise to keep casuals engaged. It could be another way to make the game more accessible to the casual player (who may not realise the important role of the backup catcher)

This was definitely a thing back then. If you didn’t roster a 2nd catcher, your starting catcher would never get hurt. Same went for any other position.
