Where did the meter go?

I can't even remember the last time I actually had a meter pop up when an opponent has attempted a steal. It has to have been at least a month. I just had a guy steal both second and third in the event and there was nothing I could do. The standard animation is just too [censored] slow. My throwing interface is still button accuracy and I get the meter for every other fielder. Any ideas?
