I had a question answered about if you could use casual for showdowns and moments (the answer appeared to be no), but what I think we would all really like to know is what mode those are going to be set in. I have a feeling people are going to be cheesed off if they are set to sim.
Why? Sim is all they have ever been on since moments were introduced and vs CPU since MLBTS existance. Why would people be mad that moments stayed same?
Cause moments blow
They will blow in any mode.
-
Also I am not sure how the most difficult mode will make moments easier.

Because sim is garbage and user input should reign supreme in moments (since they aren’t giving us the option). I shouldn’t have to keep replaying moments because an algorithm overrides my input. The default sim garbage is a big reason many people hate moments/showdowns.
Wow ok! So your saying the algorithms are preventing you from completing moments on your first attempt and it is never b/c of you just having a bad at bat? User input should reign supreme in competitive.
But when you play against CPU it is considered "simulating" hence simulation mode. Moments are a simulation of what happened in a real game. Reason why it should be simulated.
And there is nothing to suggest that the issues with moments and showdown have'nt beeen addressed without changing the mode. Since that will fall under DD that will be the last video we see. Which may be something they are still touching up on.
We just watched the hitting and pitching video last week. Did you see something with the hitting that would lead you to believe hitting isn't better?
Imo you should be able to select what they are on since it’s not against another user.
If not then competitive settings. You are gaining cards to use online.
There’s like 3 people that like simulation gaming on earth.
Seriously? What moments cards have come out that compare with BR, Program, and WS rewards? Did you just insinuate that it isn't fair everyone gets the same chance at a card to use in collections? Most are not even sellable.
Is that what this arguement is about? It's not fair everyone gets a chance to use cards of people they grew up watching b/c your worried they will use it against you online? Cmon give me a break that is the lamest excuse man.
I’m the one that wants it unfair? Fair means that everyone has the opportunity to get something. Fair does not mean everyone just gets something. Fair means lock everything behind skill. And everyone has the same opportunity to get it.
Fair does not mean you place algorithms on something and you get it in your first try I get it my second. Little Bobby gets it in his 100th. etc that’s unfair. Thats just a waste of time. If you can get Christian yelich three homer game moment because you are an absolute savage in the game then you deserve it. If Christian Yelich is my favorite player I shouldn’t be able to close my eyes and press buttons and hope for the best and still achieve that card.
Moments should definitely be competitive style with a difficulty setting depending on how good the card is. I don’t see how that is unreasonable whatsoever.
Your way off base! Everyone has same oppurtunity to get card that is why the difficulty is same for everyone. If it takes you more times to do it than little bobby well don't know what to tell you other than play better than lil bobby next time. But that sounds like skill based right there. If everybody completed it 1rst time through that is not skill based. Why is it always the games fault when you don't complete it first time trying?
I hear that alot from gamers i watch on stream they blame game for not making a catch i just laugh b/c i have lesser cards and have 1.000 feilding pct in online. I have less games played but still i did it with lesser cards.
I see same thing in Rocket League people will miss block on goal and then they type in chat lag!!!! Then watch replay and car is upside down up against the wall indicating that didn't have lag but dove in wrong direction.
I love how people say “let the game decide” and then in the same sentence tell you to “get better”
You can’t have Both. I want to get better. You want me to never have to worry about it.
It’s not about the first time trying. It’s about
Blasting perfect perfects on a moment for an hour but still unable to get an extra base hit....it’s dull. And no...that’s not skill based. You hit perfect/perfect in moments for an hour str8 without extra base hit? I am done your as full of [censored] as a christmas goose !!! One thing i hate and that's a liar but what's worse is you lied so you could try to convince others to believe you and help fight for it.
And i even defended you in your apology thread that was literally a week ago. I'm done.
Oh and btw i never once said let the game decide so you can't put it in quotations and direct it me if i never said it.
Stop taking me literal I’m obviously using a figure of speech with “perfect perfect”.
I’m saying I’ve sat there and put great contact on the ball for singles Or outs that don’t even make any sense. If Juan Soto for example gets a perfect perfect down the middle lefty righty to a silver pitcher — it should be an extra base hit 99% of the time. If it isn’t then wtf is the point of even having the reference of “perfect perfect”
The game is saying basically. “You did everything in your power as a player to do what needs to be done skillfully...-in fact attributes and match up are also in your favor but ya know what...today...nah...try again”
It’s beyond silly. As it happens ALL THE TIME. In games. In moments.
Momentum is barely taken into account. Make sense of this—
One out. Down by one in the 8th. One man on second. Lefty righty soto perfect perfect out to the wall. Jimmie foxx good good line out to left field. Freddie Freeman good good line out to right field. I get “this is baseball” but this is a video game and THAT should never happen on 3 straight at bats with 99 god squad cards. And it does...all the time. Not even a single to tie. Basically a person did everything they could to beat me and guess what. They didn’t because the game decided it was my turn. That’s a game I should’ve lost. It’s horrid gameplay to the point of absurdity.
Ok i am gonna break this down for you , just based off of this quote.
You say don't it take it literal, but yet you are using a reference to the game. Perfect/Perfect is not a figure of speech. It's either you did or you did'nt no in between.
Then you go on to say you have sat there and put "great" contact on balls for singles or outs and it doesn't make sense. Makes perfect sense.
Then you reference Jaun Soto gets a perfect/perfect down the middle lefty righty silver pitcher? Then you go on to say it should be a base hit 99% of the time. Then your like what's the point to having perfect/perfect?
Ok so now you are saying no silver pitcher should be able to strike out Jaun Soto. And then you say every time you use Jaun Soto and hit perfect/perfect it should be a base hit but yet you post all around the forum get rid of RNG, but if you get a hit 99% of time with Soto isn't that a form of RNG? The point to perfect/perfect reference is solely to let you know your timing is spot on that's it, perfect/perfect is not a guarantee hit and you are saying it should be.
Not gonna rewrite last paragraph but now you switch gears and start referencing a god squad in MP and how 3 99 overalls should not be allowed to get 3 up 3 down simply b/c it's a 99 squad? This is just proposterus. And has nothing to do with moments or showdown which is the basis of why you quoted me.
One more thing you said that really bothers me is where you are saying you had cards with better attributes and you went in with a better rating and the "game" decided "not today sorry try again!" This comes across as another form of RNG that doesn't exist b/c you did in fact lose! But you are saying you shouldn't have lost b/c of your rating/card attributes. Is that not a form of RNG?
Bottom line the game isn't screwing you as much as you lead on, in fact i think you should use the practice feature in 21. Because sounds to me like you just flat out lost a game to somebody fair and square. And you left out details of pitcher attributes in your 3 up 3 down 99 god squad scenario faced.
I'm pretty sure there are some folks who have went 12-0 in BR with silver pitchers in BP.
So i reccommend you take a long hard look at how you play before spouting things like "RNG cost me my game" when it's obvious you just faced someone who played better.

I’m not saying no silver pitcher should be able to strike out Juan Soto. I’m saying the ball was timed perfectly and squared perfectly with arguably the best hitter in the game with a match up advantage and a attribute advantage. That’s not striking out. The person didn’t swing and miss.
And I didn’t say “it cost me my game” that’s the problem it cost MY OPPONENT the game. The people who defend this nonsense are so caught up in thinking people are sore losers that it clouds their judgement as to how ridiculous this game is

I think you might be the one that needs to hit up practice because I’m not the one asking to NERF user input and heighten output randomizing you are.
And all this nonsense about skill is just absurd because I’m the one arguing to be held accountable for skill and you are the one arguing for the game to decide regardless of input. You live in a backwards world dude

The people who defend this nonsense are so caught up in thinking people are sore losers that it clouds their judgement as to how ridiculous this game is
Ok first my judgement is not cloudy i saw where you mentioned down by 1 so yes i assumed you lost.
But that has nothing to do with final outcome and what you are trying to sell inregards to RNG. If RNG was so bad wouldn't the score represent a higher margin? In fact he was only down one so just sounds like a really close game seriously.

I’m not going to quote to save space, but moments either need to be in competitive mode or they need to let us pick which mode we want. Having sim rng force me to spend more time in moments than my inputs dictate is not something I (or many others) want in the game now that we know their is a better option.

You are just being arguementtive at this point. Show me where i said "NERF" anything?

I actually don’t believe you to be a person that supports bad gameplay at all — I was making a point because you are telling me to practice. My argument has nothing to do with my skill set. It was a rebuttal to your point.
I don’t like random outcomes. I’ve played the game where it didn’t feel like random outcomes.
It’s better. Are there going to be lineouts? Yes. But everything in a video game should be based on user input unless it’s impossible. User skill should always reign Supreme in a video game.
In mlb 20 it doesn’t. It’s by far the most random game I’ve ever played besides 18 which was a gaming disaster.

In a perfect 21 there are four modes: casual, sim, competitive and grind.
Moments and Showdown would fit into the last one if they continue to behave in the same way as the last two years (going by what people say about them - I don’t actually play them).
That way, new users go into them knowing what to expect and this forum won’t get hammered with (usually justified) complaint posts.
-
Doesn’t to me what level they play on, I just want to be able to control my runners in moments like when playing conquest. Don’t give me the 2 or 3 XBH and have the cpu stop at 2nd on a ball in the gap. Let me control everything.
