I have a suspicion

That this years game mlb 21 is going to basically be a remake of 20 gameplay wise.
I really hope this isn’t true.
If they just made a competitive playlist that didn’t allow directional and made pure pci placement the pinnacle of the game...then had a separate playlist for casuals — the game would be epic
Because honestly ... the game doesn’t need much work. The work that needs to be done and the things many of us say to “fix” they have calculated and kept that way because they chose to.
So why would they change it if they haven’t yet?
This game is either going to be epically great or the biggest remake dumpster fire ever with nothing in between.
I hope you did the right thing for the community SDS.
Because spending an event on legend lining out while my opponent makes ZERO contact until you force a meatball to give him a homer...that gameplay ...that’s old. It’s stale. No one likes it...and the people that do —- once they develop a little skill they don’t like it either.

Covid + first year on PS5, Xbox one & series X, not expecting a big leap til 22.

Considering the amount of whiny high school girls on these threads i would hope they make an effort to improve...we all know they read this forum.
The cross platform is a make or break. It’s been YEARS in the making, people have chosen systems strictly cause of this game. They aren’t going to half [censored] it

If they fix check swings, and make pitching more input based, I'd draw that up as a win even if nothing else changed.

Don’t forget about foul balls

I don't think foul balls are too bad, certainly better than MLB 19. Could def be reduced on all-star, but it's almost just right on HoF and above.

Check swings have been pretty bad but some umpires are very bad at calling them however I had one game fairly early on where the bat of the hitter was pointed at my pitcher on a check swing and it was called a ball I'm sorry but even a blind person could see it was a swing the guy even messaged me after he intentionally struck out and was like "I took the K because that check swing was BS I should have been out on that call" one of the few decent players I've gone up against that I didn't mind the loss I took. It's rare but sometimes people actually aren't bad. But check swings 100% need to be fixed or if nothing else make base umpires worse. Also in RS the umpires need to reflect their real life counter parts. a lot of umpires give an in or 2 off the plate but if nothing else at least let me dot just off the plate for a strike like if the ball is touching the strike zone let me get that call more often. But I know I'm in the minority when I say I was worse umpires because then they would also have to call some strikes balls. I'm just rambling stuck on shift at 1230 so don't mind me too much lol at the point of no filter

This is not make or break at all. I don't know why people are expecting so much out of this. With covid making things so much harder and then working for 2 systems and 4 different consoles, this will be a minimal change with some extra polish. I would love to be wrong but I cant see how it is much more than that.

I believe I’m fouling too much on HOF

What we see on the screen is not always what actually happened.

I don't know. The pitcher input looks way different from what little I've seen. It looks like they have made some wholesale changes.
