I’ll just say this with the hindsight of being much older... I was never a popular or cool kid, I never really fit in, and back then that was all I wanted, to be “normal”. But by a vast majority, in the subsequent years the weird kids went on have the most interesting lives, and most of them wound up far away from home pursuing their dreams. The ‘cool’ kids back then mostly wound up with local factory or office jobs and only talk about how great things used to be.
If you can already figure out what you love to do in life, then throw yourself into it and you’ll do well. Twenty years from now, you’re going to be considered one of the cool kids from your class... trust me.

Yes - played in house and travel all stars up until high school. There was no AAU or big travel circuits like there is now.

Played when I was young. Was #5 for Minnesotta Twins. Hip surgeries and eye surgeries forced me from not playing further into middle school and high school. Have always been very coordinated and driven to suceed. Always think back on what could have been, but also realize I am in a fine spot now. For me also, I feel like knowing I could have succeeded further in any sport atleast helps me remember I have the talent if I was able to do those things. I fought through all those surgeries, had doctors in hesitation about my situation, and am now going to the gym and running daily. On the bright side these obstacles told me never to give up. Dedication, motivation, persistence. I hope I can live to tell my story to others to help them.

Played baseball in high school down in southern Florida, then moved to Iowa to play baseball at a smaller high school. Luckily I did so many hours of swing training (literally 4 hours a day, 5 years..it sucked lol) but only being 155 lbs as a senior, I lead the league in HRs doubles and some other cats. Also got to play for Team Iowa (can’t remember what it was called) but lost to Missouri in the tournament. I did stay at a home during that tourney, where the son of this host family actually has a baseball card on mlb the show which I thought was pretty cool lol I’ll end there
