11th inning showdown

I always fail at showdowns so looking for some input or suggestions. Is it on veteran? How many rounds? How many mini bosses? Final boss?
-
Hi
That is the easiest showdown ever. Everything on rookie except bosses on veteran. Draft a diamond starter only at the begining no closer needed. Good luck -

And what type of mission do you need a diamond starter for that you can’t get done with a gold or even silver starter

The 11th inning showdown is about the same difficulty as the Edwin one was. I'm doubting you'll have too many difficulties.
Every draft round has diamonds, they're all random inning bosses and henchmen from previous innings. The pitching rounds are all on rookie, so I'm sure you could get away with a bronze starter, but you'll likely come across a round where you don't need/want any of the other options and you'll be left with a starter and a reliever. Take the starter.

I finished it tonight, so a few thoughts:
-I think I only faced RHPs. My final one was Dodgers and I was thinking Kersh, but it turned out to be Jansen. I think I’ve heard others face other pitchers but I only saw RHPs. The showdown bosses are all inning rewards.
-They give you a lot of diamond picks early but then the rest of your team is commons at the start and the first few challenges only give you perks. So you need to like the guys you get and load them up early in your lineup. You will get a lot of perks.
-The players you choose from are either inning bosses or inning henchman, to give you an idea of the guys to You’ll be selecting from. A lot of pitcher choices obviously. I took a closer in one of my initial henchman rounds but there are also a lot of starters.
-
I got two missions where I used my closer. Others used my starter. If you feel confident pitching, you can skip pitchers. But honestly, there are so many repeat positions, don’t feel bad about taking a pitcher. A few rounds in, you might be forced to put a good hitter on the bench anyway if you don’t get lucky with positions.
-
there are missions where you can’t give up a certain amount of runs and I got one where you couldn’t give up two hits. Helps to have a decent pitcher for that one.
-
I generally took the best hitter regardless of position, but you will definitely have a lot more OFs to choose from. If you get a good infielder or catcher eligible, you might want to snatch them up when you can.
-of the missions I got, there are none where you start with a runner on base and I always started with my leadoff hitter. So, no need to monkey around with the batting order.
-as always, helps to put a good runner on your bench for pinch-running and stealing purposes.
-Only one of my blue missions was veteran. The rest were on rookie. The bosses, I think, were all on veteran.
-if memory serves, the first boss is score one run with 10 outs, the second is two runs with 12 outs and the third is 3 runs with 15 outs. Of course, the final one is however many runs you earn and 20 outs.
-It is pretty easy. I generally do well with the inning showdowns but this might have been the easiest that I can recall. I won every mission. (I have done that once or twice this year, but this seemed fairly easy).

Sweet! Sounds like easy stubs, xp, and program stars!

How many times can you fail a showdown mission

I haven’t done again after the first time

got to the final boss which was jansen this time. scored 11 in the leadup to the final, so down 15-11. i had 20 outs and all i could muster was 1 solo home run, lost 15-12. i had jansen down to no energy and made him throw over 60 pitches.
any tips for jansen or lineup/perks to knock this one out?
-
I'd suggest being more patient at the plate, especially against a closer. 60 pitches over 20 outs isn't great - work counts and try and get some free base runners via walks.

For sure you can do it. I am terrible at showdowns and even I got it first try. I beat all the missions on the way up so didn’t need many runs.
It doesn’t have to be pretty. Bases loaded walks and rbi groundball outs still count as runs.

I could even get past 2 set of showdowns and lost at 2nd mini boss

I also was down 15-11 going into this, and just tried to be patient. I took at least two pitches for the first dozen batters, and only looked dead center. Jensen will inevitably hang a couple offspeed pitches if you see 60+ pitches, so you have to be ready for them... if it’s not dead center, let it go until you have two strikes for the first 12 outs. And having a speed guy on the bench is always good in case you put the tying run on base. Whenever you have a runner on first, sit low in the zone, because the only thing you can not afford, ever, is a double play. Double plays are the Kryptonite of Showdowns.
-
I would advise against sitting low to avoid hitting into double plays. If I am trying to induce a ground ball, usually I am throwing low in the zone.
