Outfield defense on hits to the wall

Anyone else having the same experience where the ball is gunna hit the wall, but you get your player to the spot in time and they don't turn around to 'lock' onto the ball? It's happened to me a handful of times now, I thought it was just low defense rating players at first, but I just had it happen with Acuna and TA Gallo in back to back RS games.

The way the player reacts like they are lost, even while waiting for the ball to land, looks glitched.

Every time a routine ball is hit, it’s a 50/50 chance my guy locks on to it. It’s ridiculous. The defense in this game has been the worst I’ve ever seen it.
