Contact vs vision

Contact effects the PCI size. Vision effects the timing windowYou’re technically correct, but vague and it’s not the whole story. Also affect (sorry lol, habit)
@Freddy_Sez has it correct. I’ve tested this and found what he said to be the case. We do not know how exactly vision and K/9 affect timing windows.

Ahhhh gotcha! Knew I was being vague, but basically that’s how I view it. Hope all is well man! Miss the podcasts

Me too man. Hopefully they’ll be back before 21 drops. Hope you’re doing well also.

Logically k/9 should reduce the timing window.

Ya it does. But we don’t know if that means reducing Perfect window, Good window, very late/early window, all of the above, etc.

SDS should be answering your question. But for myself I assume k/9 reduces perfect and good windows. Most of my hits online come from early swings.

@thierry007007 these are my thoughts on the matter:
Vision in regards to the PCI only increases your “foul tip PCI” (outer PCI). So high vision does not increase the PCI size that you use to actually put the ball in play (inner PCI).
So now we are trying to apply vision to timing. The parallel to the outer PCI in the timing window seems to be very late/early. You will NEVER put a ball in play with this timing, but you can foul a ball off, much like you will NEVER put a ball in play if it is entirely in your outer PCI.
Ergo my thoughts are that if vision only increases your “foul ball PCI ability”, I’m going to assume that it does the same in regards to timing windows.
Does that make sense? You’re right I wish they would address it. But we’re left to guess and that is my guess.
Obviously if you want to think in terms of K/9 just reverse it since K/9 counteracts vision.

The counter-argument to this would be that contact should widen the perfect/good windows as those are parallel to the inner PCI. Although SDS has given no notice that contact affects timing windows and they went out of the way to note that vision does.
That said I wouldn’t be surprised if contact does and they just didn’t tell us. It makes sense to me that it would.

Looking at some my batter online stats, I have noticed something interesting. I am doing very well with batters with very high vision (110 and more). It might be because of their swing (Cobb and Wagner swings are deadly) but I am convinced their high vision attributes help with my timing.

I was just about to comment on how the incorrect use of 'effect' was affecting me. Glad I'm not the only one!

Contact = inner PCI
Vision = Outer PCI
basically what @WDK19 said -
