Download and upload speeds have nothing to do with latency. Also, the download speeds are 100% dictated by your ISP package. If you own a 300mbps download plan, you will download games at that speed max, the PS5 isn't going to magically make your internet connection capable of transferring files faster than that 300mbps.

Yeah guys I have made other posts about this. But the connection between you and your opponent GREATLY affects how your game will play. I also stated I have no problem quitting inning 1 when I notice major lag and or being called very late on fastballs that I know I didn't swing late on. Just not worth the 45 min [censored] show your about to put yourself through.

Cleaner/better connection to the internet via hardware doesnt effect latency? Learn something new everyday. Maybe its not latency and the ps4 failing under frame rates all year. But the ps5 does play better. Very simple.

I don't recall ever saying that the PS5 would make your internet faster. What I did say was that, theoretically, if you have great internet from your ISP but the hardware isn't capable of keeping up with it, that could be an issue. I was referring to the PS4 as possibly being a bottleneck, so if the PS5 were more capable it could allow you to receive the type of connection your internet is actually providing.
Again, no clue if that is actually the case, but your argument regarding 300 mbps makes no sense based on what I said since in your scenario the internet is the limiting factor, not the hardware.

I've used 300mbps download speeds on my plan for years, and I downloaded everything on my PS4 with those exact same speeds. The point is that ping has very little to no correlation with download/upload speeds whatsoever.

I'm going to wait until MLB 21 The Show comes out before buying a PS5. I also have to buy a 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 support to take full advantage of it, so need to save up the $Benjamins.

I've heard from a coworker about the HDMI 2.1 requirement for maximizing the PS5 in 4k.
Any of the users currently playing on the PS5 using HDMI 2.1, or just the standard 2.0? Also, 4k or no?

You can do 4K without HDMI 2.1 inputs. You need 2.1 if you want 4K/120hz. Anything else would be 4K/60hz.

You could be right, I also put it on high Performance mode and took the hit on the graphics...I played on 1080p.
Where did u find high performance mode?

I've also heard from others that the game plays much smoother and quicker H2H on the PS5. I've even heard from a PS4 user that the game played immediately and noticeably smoother when they matched with a PS5 user.
Perhaps this is all shiny new toy syndrome. Perhaps it isn't.
If this game utilizes a P2P network, is it conceivable that the extra processing power of the PS5 provides more power for the hardware to dedicate to the host connection, making for a better gameplay environment? My limited knowledge of networking ends before that question.
