If playing Ranked Seasons on a PS5 will you be able to play PS4 users?

One thing I learned through the years is that if you expect clear communication from SDS, you'll end up feeling thoroughly disappointed on a consistent basis.

I don’t think anyone knows for sure without explicitly testing it, but I would think you would play both PS4 and PS5 opponents. Like I said someone with a ps5 would likely have to test it.
-
Was able to order a PS5 today direct from Sony (after trying nearly everywhere else) so eventually I'll be able to test this out but curious to hear before then.

yes you can

Would there be a competitive advantage with ps5 players running at higher frame rates? I still have an original ps4 so I’m not sure if it runs significantly better on a pro or 5.

I got my PS5 this morning. Everything installed and set up. Too bad I sold all of my cards the other day due to how frustrating home run derby, I mean ranked seasons has become. Wondering if I should buy back a few players and jump back in, just to see what gameplay is like

Doubt there would be any competitive advantage because the game (20) was not designed with the PS5 in mind.
Therefore you would just be playing The Show on a more expensive gaming system until the game is programmed to utilize the extra features.

That was my initial thought too, but I wasn’t sure if there was any way it’d run better than a ps4 pro at this time.

It should run better than the original ps4 though... which is what I use.

This is copied and pasted from a post I made in another thread.
Played two games online with the PS5. Won one and lost one. Man I can not get out of all star hell. Made cs last season in the mid 500s right now.
Anyways, a few things I noticed.
Vibration is weird due to the new controller, I would turn it off.
Gameplay seemed smoother and more fluid. Could just be my excitement over the new console, but it felt better.
Fielding seems a little weird. Twice my fielders ran over balls. Once down the line in right, once at second base. Kind of how it played at the beginning of the year.
Match making felt the same. Still ended up playing home run games at shippett but the only game that went the full 9 innings was 6-3,, so not as high scoring as usual. It was however, a lower rated opponent who proceeded to beat me after I refused his friendly quit.
Hope this is helpful, good luck all in obtaining a PS5. AC Valhalla looks amazing on it.
