I think OP is talking about outside of DD. Like those pre-canned flashback teams and SDS rosters that only have him as a pitcher.

OP has a good point though. They really should have both versions of the Babe available. He's famous for both. He was great at both. I get the frustration.
I wasn’t even aware that this is an issue. I agree then, both versions should be available. Besides, I feel like most people think hitter when they hear babe Ruth, not pitcher.

I'm not at my PS4 right now, but I went through the roster last night and found that there were two Babe Ruths, and both are starting pitchers.

Nope. You can't change existing players in the rosters into two-way players. The 99 Ruth does have OF/1B as (unchangeable) secondary positions, but his primary position can only be SP/RP/CP. The other Ruth is an 87 with no secondary positions.

There is an option to solve this... Start a franchise in MLB the Show 18, continue franchise in 19, then continue it in 20... Ruth the hitter will be there... Not sure how that will effect current stats on all other players, might be 18 stats, but it’s an option, you can always play a 2020 franchise as well separately with all current stats....

Just did the same. Hopefully its addressed.

I think I figured out a way around this. Change his position to CP and the game will automatically put him at DH in the everyday lineup. I simmed a few games with this setup and he was in the starting lineup as a hitter in every one of them.

When Babe was added to 18 with all the fanfare that came with it, I'm fairly certain none of the gameplay trailers advertised him as a pitcher lol. This should be a common sense fix.
I don’t think anyone in the world gives a [censored] about babe Ruth the pitcher lol.
