Important Questions for SDS Regarding Next Gen Consoles
-
I wasn't lucky enough to snag a ps5 pre-order, but I could possibly pick up an xbox series x.
My question to anyone at SDS is two fold and is this: Is mlb the show coming to xbox for sure in 21, and will there be cross platform gaming between the two consoles?
I think these are reasonable questions that need to be answered sooner rather than later.

Agreed, some people (parents for example) are in a position where they need to make a choice for Christmas; if the only reason to be withholding that info is marketing-related then do those people a favour and let them know.

bumpity bump bump

You’d think they’d be shouting this info from the rooftops. It’s odd how little they’ve been pushing the switch to next gen and the Xbox expansion.

I think it's important to know as well. I'm seriously considering the xbox, but only if the show is on it for next gen, and it's cross platform play.

Bump up the volume. We gotta know this stuff.

I'm going to bump this because I'd really like some clarification.

Bumpity bump.

I need to know if its coming to PC, if so I'd have no use for a silly console.

Seriously?? New consoles coming out, decisions to be made. Some information would not go astray.

I don't disagree with you. With new consoles only days away, something should have been announced by now with such a huge change set to (potentially) occur this year.
That being said, did you really expect them to respond to you in this post? Even if a developer read this, they're not going to make this type of announcement on some random forum post. The news, one way or another, would be too big for that.
My guess is that even if the game actually does come to other platforms this year (not a definite with the way COVID has impacted game development), they might wait until after the PS5 launch to talk about it. SDS is a Sony owned studio, and they wouldn't want to distract from the launch of Sony's new console.
If The Show is indeed coming to other platforms this year, they also wouldn't want the news to potentially influence customers into cancelling PS5 pre-orders. As it is, with the difference in how external storage works between PS5 and Series X (PS5 can't store PS5 games externally), there are already some pretty big cons starting to pile up. While the vast majority of gamers don't play The Show, it has been a feather in the hat of Playstation and a console seller for years now since there has not been an equivalent on other platforms. They might not want to remind gamers just yet that they don't NEED a PS5 if they want a next gen baseball game.
