Extreme moments difficulties/tips?
-
When extreme moments dropped, I saw the 3 HR with yelich and 4 XBH with Gehrig and just decided not to bother. Well, last night I gave it a whirl and I finished Gehrig on my 3rd or 4th try (with 4 HRs, no less!) and I just completed the yelich moment without breaking any controllers.
I figured those would be the hardest moments, but now I’m wondering if they were actually the easiest. For those who have finished all the extreme moments, how much harder are the remaining 4 than the 2 I already completed? And any lineup tips for the god squad game and the Nate Pearson game? I’ll probably just load up a team of fast guys who hit lefties well (and I just unlocked Morgan, so that’s cool).

Since you've provided me with so much entertainment this year, I'm actually going to put some effort into this response. I'm going to assume that you and I are approximately the same skill level, even though you're probably better than I am. I did actually look at your game logs, and I think that's a safe assumption. You don't play a whole lot of online, but your stat lines look like mine (cactusbutts... of course).
Therefore, you should absolutely be able to do the moments.
- Yelich - I completed on my second try.
- Gehrig - Impressive that you completed in a few tries. I did it, with 4 HRs as well, but it took me MANY tries. HOURS. I will use the excuse that I was watching TV at the same time and really wasn't paying attention, but I think it was by far the hardest moment.
- Pearson - This one is doable. I did it on my second try, but had to force the CPU to go to 11 innings to get my 8 hits. I just used my "main" God squad, no bunt cheese or anything.
- Home Run Heroes - did it on my second try. Used 99 Orel, threw lots of sinkers and sliders away.
- Comeback against Mo - took me 3 or 4 tries.
- God Squad - I thought this one was relatively easy. Home run heroes was harder IMO. Again, use your own God Squad and you should be fine.
Once I did the Pearson moment, I immediately did the Showdown against Pearson, as I had it "teed up" (I completed all the other showdowns first). It was good to face him for a full game, then jump into a Showdown while he was still fresh in my mind.
Hope that helps. You've already completed the tough ones. Good luck!

Thank you!! This gives me hope that I can complete all the moments. I finished the Pearson one this morning (I went 10 innings), so I’m halfway there. I usually feel pretty comfortable on the pitching moments, so I’ll try that one next. I think the one I’m most worried about at this point is the god squad one. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you again for the hints and encouragement!!

Your responses are always hilarious, so I’ll give you my experience here as well. I’m a worse player than you too, but I got the whole thing done. I always start with the most challenging task, so I did Showdown and failed a gazillion times against Pearson. So the next time around, I got all the way up to Pearson, then stopped. Like @arvcpa did, I did the Pearson moment to get more used to him, passed, then went onto the Showdown so that Pearson was fresh in my mind. It worked! After that, everything was coasting. For the pitching mission where you can’t give up a homer, use a guy with very good control (I used Maddux).
