Mantle might be benched
-
I have reverse splits with mantle that make no sense, hitting 417 against lefties and 340 against righties, I've completely lost feel for him too, swing just feels slow. I'm stubborn as hell and haven't benched cause he's a collection reward...I can't say with certainty that I'd bench for griffey since I have to make lineup decisions with plugging in seager into lineup as well, but it's looking like I'm leaning that way anyway.

@Ikasnu said in Mantle might be benched:
Mantle is a lesser Beltran.
Beltran = best there ever was
Though I wonder if it were also that games play style. If you drop that exact card in this game would be be as dominant?

I believe that Beltran was the beat card in The Show ever, so I think very dominant.

Right behind Awards Trout imo, but yeah he would be great.

To be fair, Beltran probably knew what pitch was coming...

Completely user based results.. but Mantle has been absolute trash for me, MVP Trout has been hands down the best hitter I’ve ever used. It’s never the card, it’s always the user in my opinion

I disagree based on how 99 Pujols is this year. But yeah I do agree that cards performance differ form user to user.

I still think he’s the best card in the game

I wanna feel the same but idk man. Like I said its not even that I'm not performing with him, his stats are great. I'm just not comfortable when he's up in a critical situation and I've always been a firm believer in playing cards who you're comfortable with over any stats or attributes.

When I make contact with Trout, results are amazing. But dang, i strike out with him and Tatis more than anyone. Any tips on how to improve here would be great
-
@raesONE likely because the rest of your lineup has quicker bat swings compared to Mantle. That’s why he feels off. The rest of your guys probably all have similar timing.
-
I had a hard enough time picking my 3 outfielders for the 10th inning showdown.
-
[censored], I'm just now getting close to Mantle. Have 3 teams left. Is he even a viable option anymore? My OF will be MVP Trout, Griffey and Walker. Maybe getting Mickey is a waste.

I am by no means a good hitter, except for Trout and Tatis.. I used to strike out a lot in the beginning until I realized the opponents tend to always pound them with sliders away.. I just lay off the sliders and everything else in the zone they hammer
-
I could hit fine with mantle until i prestiged him. Cant hit at all with him now. Honestly cant hit with any prestige cards except tatis honestly
-
Offline player here, I sold Foxx to get him. So far the HR numbers aren't there yet, but he's an XBH machine. Trouty got benched. Either a K or a ground out.
-
Mantle is a Yankee, and that’s about as bad a thing as a man can be... his card should be benched, sterilized, and destroyed.

Not saying I will, but I've been placing him lower and lower in my lineup and I'm just completely out of sync with his motion and swing. Everytime he's up to the plate I get reminded of it, even when I get a good result. Now that Griffey is released, it might be time to move on.
I know that to many Mantle is considered as the best or second best card in the game, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. And with only 3 spots available one has to make decisions. Anyone feeling similar in this regard?
Pretty much my thoughts and experiences with him. He started out so great, but as his OPS keeps dropping, so does his position in the lineup. He’s gone from third to seventh and will go to the retirement home once I reach 300 stars.
