99 Mantile Confirmed

Okay so I just watched last year's dev tournament. Not a single high diamond round included collection rewards: Pudge, Hornsby, or Mays. It was only cards that did not have to be discovered such as Frank, Gwynn, Morgan etc. As far as I'm concerned, given that Mantle is an immediately draft-able player in BR, he must not be a collection reward.

Me too. That's the only part missing from my theory. He's got to be available day one, but not a hidden card that must be discovered such as are the collection rewards. Maybe they removed discovering cards, or removed discovery from collections

Based on past experiences, I'd agree with you. Maybe they're responding to how upset people were that Babe and Chipper were WS rewards last year. I'd expect even more pitchforks if they put someone like Mantle behind a skill wall.
To be fair, prior to last year, I would have never guessed they'd give us that SS Frank or Kershaw via the XP reward path, either. But they did do that.

They refuse to say how he is obtained on stream, so it could be some new way.
Or they just want it to be a (very predictable) surprise.
