BR needs to be on hall of fame difficulty
-
In the handbook, br is described as “the most challenging and competitive game mode Diamond Dynasty has ever seen”. Seriously? That’s a major slap in the face to the top players that actually compete on the highest difficulty. That’s the actual comp, not 3 inning all star games.
The best word I can think of to describe AS difficulty is “mediocre”. AS difficulty generally seems to be hated by the majority of the community. The skill gap is greatly diminished on AS because of the massive PCI and slow pitch speeds. If they really want br to be “competitive” it would be at least HOF. Having it on AS makes br so luck oriented. It requires some level of luck to win 12 games in a row. But winning 12 games in a row on AS difficulty is more luck than skill in most cases.
Lmk your thoughts- ik id play br way more if it was on HOF. I think the mode has a lot of potential and it would be much more fun and challenging on hof rather than the most RNG based difficulty in the game.

I see where you’re coming from but in a way, it gives everyone a chance to compete on AS really. I win alot more games on HOF than I do on AS. That says something

Same. it's weird but On HOF I do pretty good.

Describing a mode as “competitive” and wanting everyone to have a chance to compete is ridiculous. The players that would prefer AS difficulty never go 12-0 or win 12 games ever. So they really don’t compete. They may get lucky in a game or two but is that competing? That’s just wasting 1500 stubs. Events should be kept on AS for those that wanna feel good abt themselves for “competing” by getting bailed out by low skill gap settings
-
I'm with OP on this one. HOF for sure. Ppl who aren't good at this game will still have a chance, they're facing trash on the mound most times.

Stop being salty. Shut up and play the game. Why do you care? You must be constantly going 12-0 anyways! with your skill

Why do I care? I care because this mode has a lot of potential to be a competitive game mode but it’s not atm. My argument is that if SDS wants to consider this “the most competitive game mode” then it should actually be competitive

I agree. I think there needs to be a consistent option to play competetive games on HOF for anyone who wants to. It's hard to build up the skillset grinding AS to compete when you're then thrown into a HOF game. The effective pitchers are different, strategies are different. Right now I'm bouncing back and forth in RS trying to get through and it's tough not knowing what you're gonna play on from one game to the next.

We have RS. If you want to be competitive go there.

I could write a book filled with PSN names that beat me in BR over the last few years but really had no business competing against me. That's not me being cocky, I know when I legitimately lose a game. That's just how random it is.

rewards would be even more expensive. They should have two modes of BR, all star and HOF

No they wouldn’t. There would actually be more 12-0s

I’ve been saying for a while it would be nice to have a nine inning version, with different draft rules, on HOF settings. Just because it’s more like baseball.
It would play like an amalgamation of RS and BR. For example, You could draft a squad from your owned cards with an overall cap similar to events and lock them in for the duration of your run. Either go with the existing BR format and have players compete to win 12 games, with staggered rewards at set milestones and elimination after a loss or two, or mix it up yet further and have players advance through “divisions” within the mode. First step would be “Win 2 of 3 games to advance”, then “Win 3 of 5 games to advance”, then “win 5 of 7 to advance”. At this point you’d have won ten from a maximum of fifteen played and you could put yourself against someone else who’d made it to that stage for the final reward or whatever.
DD is just a cut and paste job every year, there’s a few new legends and occasional revamps of programs, but nothing really new or original. I can’t give them too much credit for Showdown being new or original this year as it’s just moments bolted together. I guess the actual showdown itself is novel, but it plays like moments, with bad defenders making leaping catches and so on, which isn’t much fun.

The reason they will NEVER put BR in HOF: Lesser skilled players, me included, would NEVER pay to play on HOF settings.
They would lose money because people wouldn't be spending stubs and they wouldn't be buying stubs.

Stupid argument. Just because there’s ONE game mode in the game that’s supposed to be competitive means that br should automatically be RNG and luck oriented? BR is the main way for most players to make stubs. So yeah, it should be competitive. It’s also labeled as “competitive” by SDS in the handbook which I’ve mentioned to you 3 times now. No players that benefit from the AS rng go 12-0 anyway, so it shouldn’t matter to them. And when the best rewards in the game are on the line, it should be competitive.

I don’t think people buy stubs to enter BR anyway, I really don’t see that as a consideration. It’s more that SDS are for dumbing down the game and allowing everyone to score 57 runs per game on 55 home runs and putting BR on HOF doesn’t fit that narrative.
I’m starting to think the devs are all in the “Huurr, durr, I crushed that ball” category, who only see the value in offense when playing baseball. This is what happens when your experience of real baseball is only shaped by 60 game seasons and watching quick pitch. You think every single AB should be like it is on TV. Except that’s a highlight reel you’re watching.

BR on HOF would make it actually fun imo
