Is MVP Trout a top 5 OF option?
-
I can’t see paying 400k for Ted when Edmonds is free and overall Probly a better card.
-
Yes. I don’t really like modern players in my end game team, nor old timers, as I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing me say by now. I also can never hit with Trout usually. His LS, His immortal in ‘18, his SS card last year - All really bad stats with. This years 99 Trout? Awesome. Tears the cover off the ball for me and has a fast swing, defense is good etc.
I only kept him around to finish his prestige program for the packs and something to do, but I can’t lie, I am definitely going to miss him when 99 Griffey drops. He’s been surprisingly good this year.

Trout and mantle are the top 2. There’s argument over whether #3 should be walker or Cobb. I’m using 99 Yelich as my 3rd OF and I’m happy with results. Full disclosure, I’m waiting for Griffey to be my 3rd OF

First, CONGRATS on getting the MVP Trout! I was able to get him too, and like you, I didn't think I'd be able to do it. He's the best card in the game, IMO. My outfield is Trout, Mantle, and Walker. I also have Cobb. There are a TON of amazing outfielders in the game right now and Trout remains at the top for me.

I can't believe this is a real question. Get that man in your lineup!

There is a 0% chance Edmonds is a better card than Ted Williams. That Ted card might be the best card in the game aside from Trout

He is the best card in the game, so yes.
In your opinion , what makes him the best card in the game ?

Most importantly his swing, he can hit to all parts of the field. His elite numbers against righties (reverse splits), which are the most important attributes in the game because you will face righties most of the time, and even when you face a lefty he still has elite power and good enough contact. And then the fact that he is a diamond outfielder with 90+ speed and a good arm. I would take Trout over Mantle or any other player currently in the game without hesitation.

Mantle and Trout are better than all the rest in the outfield.
Cobb and Walker are really good too.

Just curious. Why does nobody use HRD Griffey? I have him and have thought about trying him out but how bad can he be?
-
How is Ted William's anyway...bought him last night because I had stubs and have loved his card since the show 15...

He is such a great hitter in the game, and defense is serviceable in LF..... Has hit so well that I have Cobb and prestige walker on the bench now, which is pretty crazy....

The defense and contact just isn't there like his sig card last year. The HRD cards all have juiced power and lack of defense.

This. I’ve used his postseason card over the HRD card because he has better defense. There’s also the fact that the HRD card has been more expensive to obtain than his 95 and those stubs have to be locked in. By using the PS card instead, you retain liquidity and when they eventually give us his 99 I can just sell the PS card again.

I start Cobb, Mantle and Williams in my OF only because I’m a huge fan of Williams. If not I would start Trout. But Trout is my 4th outfielder for now. Once Griffey comes out I’ll start him and then Williams and Trout will both definitely still be bench bats.

Really? Even factoring in fielding? There have been years when he was disastrous in the outfield. Does he hit that much better than Edmonds?

Fielding is a non issue with silver in left I've found. Is Ted going to make a diving catch every game, or flag down a ball in the gap that Buxton might get to? No. But his bat is easily the best left bat in the entire game, and arguably the best overall. Trout only has him beat as an all around card because Trout's card truly is elite level at all 5 tools, where as with Ted you're getting unbelievable hitting with fielding that's fine.

I love Ted. He is like Babe for me. He hits balls no one else can and his D has not been a liability
