CAP (balanced w/ diamond equipment, switch hitter) is still best option at C IMO. Any speedy team can run wild against Piazza. D'Arnaud is much better against RHP than CAP, but CAP is better against LHP, better fielder and much quicker getting around the bases (70 v 47). And the balance to the line up a switch hitter brings is worth quite a bit over another righty.

i keep seeing posts about CAPS, ive NEVER used one, how do they work? how hard is it to max them out?

Statistically, Javy has the best single season between the two. I wouldn’t judge a swing until you try it. Piazza’s is bad enough, low bar.

Well I mean just watching Javy for 10 years would tell me his swing is long. He used a long bat and had a looping pull swing.
Was never known for his defense, and other than 2003 was a mid level offensive catcher.
Idk even as a Braves fan he isn't someone I'm clamoring for.
Went to double check his career stats. Outside of 2003 (likely steroid use and contract year) he never put up more than 3.5 WAR in a season.

Dude, I've had Mondesi, Robinson, Biggio and Mantle all thrown out... Close, but it shouldn't even be close. Some of those I took an extra step too.
It does seem to be more tweaking on the running side than on the throwing side but as someone who runs a quicker team that steals and pressures a lot I'm noticing it.

I've also thrown more guy's out lately than I can remember, so it's not just sour grapes. I genuinely think they nerfed stealing, which is probably not a bad thing.
