When is the market most active, and when is the best time for flipping?

This lines up when players are playing the most. So it would be 7-11 PM EST imo. Gets the West Coast in too. So more players are earning cards and quick selling them to fulfill your buy orders.
Far more buy orders are placed during the early part of the day when users are at work, etc. Then they're fulfilled in latter half of the day.
Best time for flipping? Honestly, if you look at how many sell per a minute and work 30+ different cards at the same time you can make a profit anytime. I used to look to make 100k every 3 hrs. I stay away from the most active items and find a niche and go. Ten equipment items in one browser, refresh them every 15 minutes and usually Gold LS that have the best profit.

I try to get on later in the day, but mostly in the morning. I feel that flipping equipment is too slow. I once got a 70K profit, but then did it again, and ended up losing stubs. Should I try and get back into equipment flipping? -

I'm talking "Active DNA Compression Sleeve" - Buy Now/Sell Now of 378/28 or "Gameday Armor" - 321/28. Not in the sense you'll make a killing. Just every 15 or 30 minutes, refresh, put in a buy order and a sell order and its a constant stream of stubs over time. More mindless activity tbh when my work or school day is keeping your attention.

I have been using this. I am about to put A BUNCH more orders in to go through while I mow.
