I have seen another thread about this, so I figured I would ask: IF you could decide who would be the cover athlete, who would it be? I would like an Anthony Rizzo or Clemente. What about you?

I would love a Tatis or Bauer, Tatis I mean he is the most fun player to watch in the bigs and has the brightest future. Bauer same thing fun to watch and brings next level energy and also loves to troll everyone including the worst [censored] commish Manfred

Coming from a braves fan, Sadly I dont think it would be freddie only bc he isn’t flashy or young, it would be more likely be Acuna AND Albies together than it would Freddie. Honestly tho its prob gonna be tatis.

I want clemente, but would certainly settle for Soto. If they had any plans of putting Tatis on the Cover than Soto would have been the POTM card instead IMO

No doubt Clemente is a legend and it makes for a great hashtag, but the cover athlete needs to be able to market the game. Social media posts, interviews, videos segments, etc. are a big part of how The Show is marketed and that’s tough to do with a deceased player. Clemente would bring more sales as an inclusion to DD, but cover athlete requires more interaction than he can provide unfortunately.

I mean if we are going g for who I would want as opposed to who I actually think I would have to say deGrom or David Wright. I don't see that happening at all tho so realistic ones I would love a Griffey and as much as I hate the Nationals a Soto cover card would be nasty

This is a great point. I think this could be rectified by having two cover athletes (let's say Clemente and Tatis or Soto). Could do them together on one cover or as the covers of two separate versions. Could be a cool way to connect the past and present.
