Will DD transfer & be playable on PS5?

This has probably been covered a million times but I haven’t been on these boards in months & haven’t heard anything.

Alot of The Shows future is not known right now.
The new agreement Sony and SDS signed with MLB indicated that in 21 it would go multiple platforms but no further new has been release or even for that matter rumored or speculated on by industry insiders.
As for PS5 a MLB 20 version has never been mentioned so likely it will be played able on the system via BC but how that will affect the game is unknown.
We normally get updates on the next game after the conclusion of the world series so the first weekend in November should start to shed some light

To answer the question in the title, while it has not explicitly been stated it is essentially guaranteed. Only about 10 PS4 games won’t work on PS5. The Show isn’t one of them. Diamond dynasty is completely saved on the servers and is linked to your PSN. If the game runs, your DD team and stats should be there.
As CDNMoney said, a lot is unknown. The game will likely run at least a little better on PS5, but there could be technical issues that make it run worse. At the very least though, you should be able to try it yourself with all of your players, stubs, and DD content intact.

I know it will fire up no problem. I’m just worried if it’s gonna be like it is now or if you’ll be limited to offline game modes. The fact that SDS hasn’t come out & said that everything will transfer & be playable scares me as all the other game companies have. Until I hear it from their mouth I’m gonna hold off getting a PS5.

What would make you think that you would be limited to offline game modes? The PS5 will connect to the PSN.
Everything related to Diamond Dynasty is stored on their servers and is connected to your PSN account. If I were to sign onto a friends PS4, my Diamond Dynasty team would be there when I load up the game. PS5 will undoubtedly work the same way, and they likely haven’t said anything about this specifically because it’s 2020 and that’s how things have worked for quite some time.
The only issues that have been reported on (that I know of) are when there is a remastered or new version of the game like with Spider-Man. I can’t see SDS putting out a remastered version of an annual sports game unless they just skip releasing a 2021 version completely due to challenges related to COVID.
You can hold off on getting a PS5 if you’d like, but at this point you would have to do so anyway. Pre-orders have been sold out for quite some time, and stock will likely be scarce the first month at least.
