I didn't know much about him, but knew that he was in a rock band.
Sad, especially because of how young he was. ONLY 65! RIP

Just in case anyone didn't see the news.He was a god, Van Halen was before my time for the most part but i still grew up listening to them, one of the most gifted guitarists ever .
It's sad but his health had been in decline so this was inevitable. Figures it would happen in 2020 though.

For people like me, this is the same as when Ted Williams passed... except younger. Absolute legend, influenced nearly every guitarist I know, and I know a ton of guitarists.
