Please tell me I’m wrong

When looking at the first inning reveal there were stat missions similar to 2018.
Please tell me we aren’t going back to offline grinding being the best way to build a team? This and FIFA were the only games where online playing was the best way to build a team.
I’m not buying it if it’s a bunch of grinding on rookie, so any info would be appreciated.

I think they have multiple routes to get the required points. A lot of the ones they showed actually said stats accumulated Online only. Offline players will probably have to do exchanges in lieu of stat grinds.

You're wrong. There are many ways to earn program stars, including by just playing the game. The only thing stat missions are required for is small upgrades to the program boss cards, and those missions can only be done in head-to-head play.

Awesome thanks.

There are no stats missions for the Inning program itself.
The bosses though, once you earn them, can have their own missions to turn them into Prestige Diamonds. That is where the stat grind comes into play. Of course if, like me, you are an offline only player then you can forget about those since they are online only.Personally, I don't mind the idea of Prestige Diamonds and grinding online to earn them. I just wish they had not chosen to make the Inning Bosses that type of card. Since the grinding can only happen online, I wish they would have made some ranked season, event or Battle Royale rewards as prestige cards.
Better yet would be to let us offline players still grind for them but just increase the needed stats. They already do this in Team Affinity where you have to play more innings offline than online.

1st Inning Stage 1 had 3 online-only missions
- Win 10 Ranked
- Win 10 Online (Ranked, Event, BR)
- Get 15 Hits w/ Live Series and/or Prospects
I'd be shocked if Stage 2 didn't bring more missions, some of which I'd expect to be offline as well.

Hello, Evolution pack!

There is absolutely no offline grinding if you don't want to, unless you count moments but I never thought of it that way

Hello, Evolution pack!
Evolution packs are nice too. I just think it is incredibly poor planning to let you earn a card playing completely offline and then lock the prestige version behind online stats.
As I said, I feel like these cards would work better as rewards for the online modes since offline players will not earn those anyway.
