This is a basic supply and demand. You only pick 1 card from a group of 5 random each time. In a couple weeks there will be an abundance of these cards and they will then be going for 5k. It’s only the second day man don’t blow a gasket over this geezz

Ok everybody, this is just ridiculous. These R.I.B cards (Run It Back for those who haven't heard that before) are just stupid. I like most of the cards themselves, I will definitely use people like Wade Davis and Lee Smith, but when I say they are stupid, I mean in terms of their prices. If you can do the showdown/conquest OVER and OVER again, you would THINK that the cards would be going for about quick sell value. Instead, some are going for 30k+ in Buy Now column, and like 25k+ in the Sell Now column. That's just dumb. If you were waiting for a different way to farm stubs besides flipping, well congratulations. You just won the lottery. This is the BEST way to farm stubs in the game now. I don't know if I agree with this. It's not really that fair. Think of it this way. If you complete the program just 8 TIMES, I repeat 8 TIMES, which shouldn't take long at all, you already just about got yourself 200,000+ STUBS. THAT. IS. A. JOKE. Just to put that into perspective.
I just want to know, do you think the cards are REALLY worth 25k+? How many times would you do this program if they STAY that high?
The cards are worth what people are willing to pay for them. If people think they're priced too high then they won't buy them and the prices will go down. That's how it works.
-
I play two on veteran, beat sox on veteran, two on veteran again, beat A's then rest is on rookie. Although quite easier on veteran than rookie weird. I bought smith and packed Billy William's. Wrapped up a few conquest missions as well. With over 400k it isnt about the stubs but the trout collection... some people easy stubs, some easy cards for collection, and some a new way for team affinity with worthwhile goal as well
-
Soooo, you're complaining that this isn't a "pay-to-play" or "pay-to-win" game? You're complaining that there's too much content? You're complaining that there is too many cards that create diverse line-ups? You're complaining that more players are able to have a lineup that is competitive and not keeping the "elites" and the "fat-wallets" on top with a wide gap on who can own certain cards? You're complaining that you aren't able to adapt and overcome changes in the community market? You're complaining that SDS are giving everyone a chance to get the cards that they want?
That is a whole lot of complaining! Maybe try less complaining and more gaming! I know misery loves company, but life is more fun without complaining and more time gaming!
-
They will hold a little value no matter what because these are cards you can exchange for Team Affinity. And you can keep on getting them for as long as you want and do all the teams available for team affinity points without spending stubs.

I would rather appreciate it if you would NOT insult me. That would be nice. All I'm trying to say is that it will absolutely destroy the market. I mean, think about it. There IS a reason that they HAVEN'T done this before..Didn't insult you, I said your opinion sucks.

All I’m saying is it’s still a major time sink completing the map so if people want to do this for hours and hours and hours more power to them. I could use stubs but no way I’m doing that [censored] more than like 3 times

imagine if you made a thread about this and it was passionate enough to give the impression that it kept you up at night. holy [censored].

Yeah, that's the definition of an insult. Disagreeing with someone in a rude way. You could simply say, "I don't necessarily agree with your opinion, but I see where you are coming from," or something like that. -

Fair enough.Honestly, it’s not going to be as much of an issue as you think it will be, because unlimited stubs was always a thing. I can make 3-400k per day just flipping.
I’d love to get an idea of the methods you’re using to make 300k-400k per day just flipping... that seems highly unlikely.

Ok, I will explain. Here goes:
If everyone had the ability to farm unlimited stubs so easily (I don't consider flipping easy), everybody would have all the good cards in the game, like Mickey Mantle, and Mike Trout. I understand that SDS wants people to have those cards, but it also gets to a point where it's just too much. If everyone could farm those stubs, everyone would have cards like that, removing the sense of accomplishment for the people who HAVE completed it, because the whole point of LS collection and LAF collection (In my opinion), is to be a show of strength and perseverance, to show "Hey, I have took the time to grind for these cards, and to do the steps necessary to get them." I feel like it would take away from that sense of accomplishment, because it goes from being hard to get, to just about everybody in the game has the cards, so they are now very common. There is the part from a grinders perspective. Here is the part from a market crash perspective.
If everyone is allowed to grind this program as many times as they want, everybody would have all the stubs they could ever want. That means that people like me, who DON'T have Mickey Mantle or Mike Trout would be able to get those cards with basically no effort involved. If that were to happen, prices on the marketplace would inflate so fast, and so high, everybody else who isn't good enough to do the program over and over again would basically lose the ability to compete with others online. It would create an unfair bar of division between the MLB the Show community between the people who are good enough to do that, and the people who aren't.Here is an example: Say I was one of those players who isn't good enough to do the R.I.B program over and over again. For me, stubs are hard to come by. I'm not very good at the game, and I struggle at things like conquest and showdown. Let's say I have just hit 50,000 stubs from miraculously doing the R.I.B showdown once, and I want to buy a better player for my starting rotation. Well, everybody else who IS good enough to do the R.I.B program over and over again are thinking the exact same thing. They want to get better starting pitchers too. Thus, the people who can do it over and over buy those players BEFORE the worse player can. The price of say, FOTF John Smoltz was (I know it isn't just giving a example) 45,000 stubs. You just got to 50,000 stubs, and you are excited to go buy him. you look at his price, and it is now 60,000 stubs. Your heart sinks. You know you can't get that much that fast. You feel doomed. You also tell yourself that 60,000 for one card is WAY too much. You decide to go look at other cards you wanted if your first plan went wrong. To your surprise, ALL of those cards have gone up in price. You decide to buy some anyways, but you have lost some value in the stubs you have. Instead of having, say, 10,000 stubs left over for those cards, you now only have about 3,000 stubs left over. It just creates an unfair advantage/disadvantage for the people who can or can't do the program over and over again.
I hope this explains my thinking behind starting this post in the first place well.
I think the fact you can punch in a credit card and buy Mantle on day 1 eliminates the sense of accomplishment being ruined thing. Tons of us earn him but just as many buy him and if you have the money to burn then hey, more power to ya. Doesn't effect me or my sense of pride in earning the cards. Also the showdown I understand but if you can't consistently beat the conquest then no offense but you wouldn't beat a team of commons while using a God squad online.

Rib is a great program and a lot of the cards are very good , love the diversity all these cards bring to lineups and hope to see more of it! The jones and Baez cards would have been real fun to use on my main squad a month or two ago

It’s really not hard to make 50k per hour, it’s all about volume flipping. I haven’t bothered to flip since Alomar and Wagner came out, maybe it’s slowed down a little but I’d be surprised if I couldn’t make 300k. In a day. I might try it today and see how viable it still is, I’ll let you know exactly how much I make if I do.

Well, I'm not exactly SALTY about it, it just doesn't make sense to me why they would do that. And I'm saying that I don't have time to do it because for me, my orders NEVER go through, and they always get beaten out, and it's just too much of a hassle.Use your phone and get on the show nation from there. I’ve really taken advantage of this the past few years because I don’t have as much time as I’d like to sit and play.

Probably more viable than ever, by the looks of it. I made 50k in about 90 minutes at a time when the market is typically slow. Flipped Frank Thomas three times buying at 102.5 and selling at 126. Seems easier than ever to me.

Everyone has their own way of playing the game, depending on time and patience. The only real mistake is thinking, everyone has to play it the same way; they won't.
