Strikeout Issues on All-Star, Advice?

Never play on anything lower than All Star. I would say to never play on anything lower than HOF but most people don’t handle HOF speeds very well unless you’re an experienced player in the upper tiers

Full of yourself aren't you? I am 58 years old and play HoF all the time against the cpu, and I am definitely not one of the best players in the world. It is a matter of getting use to it, it is not a matter of being in the "upper tiers", which you are clearly defining yourself.

What are you talking about? Another guy who gets offended by the way the wind blows. If you don’t have anything of substance to add move on. These self indulgent analysis of other players is pointless. I don’t care how old you are and what difficulty level you play on, I was answering the OP’s question. Your comment serves no purpose but to make you feel better about yourself. And yes I am a top tier player and I was offering advice because the OP was asking for it. Have a good day feeling bad about yourself.

I rarely if ever strike out on Rookie or Veteran. But when I get to All-Star, it's extremely hard to tell if something is going to land in the strike zone or not, and lately I've been missing a lot of breaking balls (curves of all kinds, changeups, and sliders) for strike three. And with hitters that you'd think would be the LAST person to strike out (Babe Ruth is one of them).
Is anyone else struggling with preventing strikeouts on All-Star? I want to fix this as I'm playing at this difficulty to complete the Extreme Conquest Map.
I find that if you’re facing a pitcher with a fastball/breaking ball mix, I do better sitting on fastballs up, and letting any breaking stuff go... most of it’s below the zone anyway. You can still adjust down on low fastballs, and you’re sitting in the right location in case they hang anything offspeed. If it’s a junkballer then I’ll sit middle low.
I do agree watching the ball out of the pitcher’s hand helps. If it pops up on release, it’s about to break down, unless it’s a high fastball way above the zone.
Also, go for hitters whose style/swing suits you. I hit better with guys like flashback Ellsbury and Blackmon than I do with Sheffield or Reggie. Everyone is different.

Well you are not helping by telling him that HoF is for experienced players who are in the upper tiers. First, that's wrong, second, you only said that to brag about yourself.

How about you quote the whole thing as opposed to cutting my comment short. Why would you do that? Oh right because it doesn’t support your narrative. Everyone reading this back and forth there is more to that statement that this troll has left out. It’ll put context to what this idiot is trying to hide.

The thread is one page, I think we can all read just fine. In any event, there's no need to come in and brag, no one cares. Literally, no one cares. No cookies will be given out, no one will send you prize money, and your mom loves you no matter what.

Who the H e l l is bragging kid. You obviously spend zero time on these forums. One of the biggest complaints by others is the fact they can’t hit pitches on higher difficulties for numerous reasons. But morons like you chime in and spew garbage which has nothing to do with the forum or post within the forum. So GTFO of here with this s h I t. No one wants to hear you make assumptions about others. I never made any mention of myself. So stfu clown.

I have strikeout issues on all levels. I just need to swing at breaking stuff in the dirt. I made Division Series for the first time earlier and playing Hall of Fame sucks for hitting.

Are you watching the points of the pitches release? That seems to be the only way to really pick it up. There are many Youtube videos that give awesome advice. Also, are you using Zone or Directional? I was doing directional but just switched to Zone and it seems to be more rewarding in the Extreme's. Everyone has their own style of play. But sometimes switching to directional will make things alot easier on the higher difficulties.

So, this is my first year playing the show and I have found some things through trial and error that have helped. Im still susceptible to low pitches but I've gotten much better, and am now really good at picking up inside and away pitches. I started using Zone 2, slightly farther back, I just couldn't pick anything up in Zone, it was too close. I have now since switched to Zone and hit much much better as it's easier to get the PCI on the ball because you're closer and it's larger, it does for me anyway make it slightly harder to pick up balls out of the zone however, but I have improved on that.
I tend to hit better on HOF than AS, visually it's just a better fit for my eye not having as big a PCI and I am much more patient, I have messed around with no rings, just dots, and now I have settled on inside PCI only with altitude in orange.
For me what has helped most surprisingly is this extreme event. It's one thing to practice on HOF or legend but now to actually have a reason and to be playing for something helps.
My advice, experiment with views like Zone 2 and 3 but always come back to Zone. And play you're conquest games on HOF for practice.

You are a very angry person. What's wrong? Why are you always angry, calling people names, and wishing them to die?

I hear ya! I hit better on HOF all day. When the moments and stuff go back down to All Star and Veteran it throws everything off. I use the "Offset" view! It gives you a better perspective of hitting the pitch as the batter. In other words, it's kind of like becoming the batter and watch the pitch as it makes it's way toward you. It becomes alot easier to pick up, especially on the higher levels. I switch between the views, depending on the level. It could explain why I can't beat that darn showdown...LMAO
