Was in the middle of a Conquest and forgot about the stupid update. It warned me for hours, yet I continued. Friggin 2020!
-
I’m sick too, Cold/Flu and chesty cough. No clue if it’s Covid-19, you can’t get a test here in the UK, but I’m staying home and playing MLB the Show just in case. Get well soon!

Yikes, Godspeed. It could be worse, you could be living in the USA!

I heard the cases were flaring back up again over there. I probably wouldn't worry unless you can't smell or taste. Had half a mind to flee to the moors of Scotland when the case #'s where getting bad over here.

Yeah, it’s actually classic Covid symptoms, we started out with a high temperature, then got the no smell and taste thing, now moved onto a hacking cough. Funnily enough though, no real sniffles or blocked sinuses, no prickly sore throat, which actually makes me more inclined to think it’s ‘Rona. Sadly, the testing system here is a shambles and you’ve more chance of winning the powerball than actually getting a test.
I’m all for hiding indoors myself as cases rise again, but it’s just not practical, someone has to work, shop and generally function as usual, because we’re a family of four, plus two dogs that have to eat and so on. My eldest daughter brought this bug home, she is 18 and like most of the younger generation, cares little for the global pandemic currently playing out before our eyes. The most disastrous thing that can happen in her world is having to stay in and not socialise with her grubby band of friends (most of whom do not look like the obsessive hand washing and sanitising stereotype!!) for one day, let alone months at a time, so that’s driving me nuts as well. What a crazy year it’s been and continues to be for everyone!

Sounds like corona to me. Just stay home and drink lots of fluids (ginger ale is a good choice, the ginger boosts your immune system). It pays to be an introvert in these times, staying home is no issue for us lol. Testing is going on like crazy over here with the Operation Warp Speed thing.

@The_doctorswife Well, to hear the government talking heads, we’re not only testing anyone who needs a test, we’re also going to test the entire population in “the very near” future! Absolutely hilarious given that the reality is, you simply cannot book a test when you need one.

Our capacity in NL is a bit short right now as well as we're experiencing a second wave. I got tested myself 2 weeks ago, got the negative (thankfully) result the very same day.

I think a lot of this testing capacity they allude to being available here is being carried out in clinical settings and for workers in key sectors where regular testing is mandatory. I don’t think the community testing is anywhere near as widespread or available as we’re led to believe. Ultimately, if you can stay at home and recover from it, as with any other seasonal virus, I don’t think attaching the label of Covid-19 to your illness has any merit anyway. There’s no specific treatment for it and even if I was “only suffering” from viral Pneumonia instead of Coronavirus, you still wouldn’t particularly want me out and about coughing on you and others!

Tonic water and Zinc I've heard works well with the Corona.

I've heard that the NHS over there comes up short on some stuff. Are they just overwhelmed with the massive uptick in cases?

It’s not the NHS, more the lack of funding for the NHS over the past few years. I believe they do a good job with what’s available. A better question for me, is why are we short on these tests now? Surely, as we enter the time of year when Influenza like illness and respiratory infections begin to increase, having had the last six months to prepare, we should have an adequate stockpile of tests in anticipation of regular seasonal illnesses that mimic Covid-19?
Nope. We are told the uptick in demand for testing has been “unexpectedly” high of late. Hmmm, only if you’ve been living on Mars for the past year. Typical government BS. Luckily they’ll be increasing capacity “by the day”! -

Has she figured out that someone has to work yet? Half of my country can't seem to grasp the concept.

Yeah, they soon figure it out when you stop paying for everything for them, lol.

Luckily they’ll be increasing capacity “by the day”!Looks like y'all are going through the second wave, just like we did this past summer. The good news is that the cases should decline in the future—my state used to be recording 2k cases per day in June & July, now it's only hovering around 500 or less.

Well, they’ve said we will be living with some type of lockdown restriction for at least six months, so I hope SDS keep the content coming until ‘21 releases!
