Diamond watch Seager vs Anderson?
-
What am I missing here with Seager being rated higher and more expecting him to go diamond?
Case for Anderson : higher BA and OBP, Higher OPS, won the batting title last year and will win it again this year. More stolen bases, more hits, higher WAR.
Seagers case: More rbis. More homeruns (3 more). On the dodgers
I'm really not trying to cherry pick stats and I'm really looking for somebody to tell me what I'm missing with Seager
Before somebody says defense they have about the same UZR, fielding percentage, and DRS. Same amount of errors. I am in no means an expert of defensive stats so anyone please chime in on any I'm missing.
Thoughts?Disclaimer I have in invested in both

Based on the 3 years average SDS is ignoring this season. Seager needs to go diamond. Anderson has never been higher than a goal and Seager has been a diamond 2/3 past years. But honestly both of them deserve to go diamond. I can see Anderson going to 85 and Seager 86. but knowing SDS they will both stay high gold's and Machado and Tatis will get another boost in rating since SDS loves the Padres and Lamet will probably jump to a 90+ in 1 week.

Just weird to me. During the past 2 years Anderson has been the better player. I tossed out 3 years ago due to injury for Seager and pre breakout for Anderson. Seager was slightly above average last year. Hurt the year before. I'm not a Seager hater either always liked him and believed in his talent. But speaking on the stats only over the last 2 years. Anderson has been better

Based on WAR this year: (before games on 9/22)
Seager: 1.8 fWAR, 1.8 bWAR
Anderson 2.5 fWAR, 2.4 bWARIf we look at what they did in the past two years:
Seager: 2018 WAR (0.5 fWAR, 0.3 bWAR) 2019 WAR (3.3 fWAR, 3.3 bWAR)
Anderson: 2018 WAR (2.0 fWAR, 3.1 bWAR) 2019 WAR (3.5 fWAR, 3.7 bWAR)Now, Seager was injured in 2018, which takes a big bite out of possible WAR that year. However, Anderson only turned in about 2 WAR that season, so it wasn't a big year for him either. Both players were pretty good last season, and both are good again this season, with Anderson having a slight edge due to having a better offensive season. Anderson leads in wRC+ 168 to 155, and in terms of baserunning and defense, both players are about equals this year. Based on success in the past year, and being an overall better player this year, Anderson has gotta be the one to get the diamond nod first. He has been as good or better than every shortstop in baseball this year, other than Tatis. Seager isn't too far off the mark though, and it would not be a crime to see him upgraded as well, however, there is no good excuse for a situation in which ONLY Seager is upgraded to diamond, and not Anderson as well.

I really think they're going to upgrade Seager and leave Anderson gold
