A lot of players praise Sds and the show about getting good cards for free allowing a majority of players to compete.

A member in the community mentioned that someone can pick up the game right now and with the free cards available to grind they can compete. He is right but let's look at this real quick.

Someone who has never played the game...can pick it up...get good cards and compete with someone who has been playing the show for about 5 years.

Needs no skill...no baseball experience...just cards directional and a button and your off to the races.

Mlb the show 16: Show me your skill!!!

    Mlb the show 17...18...19...20...21...22...23...24

" SHOW ME YOUR CARDS!!!!! "

The only thing I can think of where you can jump in with no experience and beat an " expert " is rock paper scissors and a "coin flip"

Sds back in my younger playing days we had players who's parents were rich and had the best of all baseball equipment.
He bought the brand spanking new black gold Omaha tpx with the air pocket in the barrel....couldn't hit a lick....because he had no skill.....

If u have 99 babe ruth and u cant hit a lick it should reflect in your gameplay.
The cards are not the skill they are simply a tool to use like the Omaha bat....could u imagine if the bat hit the ball for him....he would be a stud...then playing time would be given to the kids with the best equipment from their parents.

And you would have a bigger selection of kids playing baseball because the equipment does the hardest thing in sports for them....hitting a round ball with a round bat square when its travelling 95 mph.

MLBTS 16 was "Show me you can press triangle and bunt down the 3rd base line." If the bunt cheese element weren't there it was probably the best gameplay we've had...but all you needed t do to have a competitive team was collect 1-2 divisions and complete conquest + feed missions.

No, a player picking up the game for the first time right now could not compete. That would be silly.

A player with experience playing previous MLBTS games and just getting MLBTS20 right now could give many players a fun and competitive game though. That is what counts.

He who has the most fun wins.

I have every card in the game and it took me being unemployed and playing all day since March to start hitting .300.

I disagree almost completely. Yes I do think that the skill Gap is closer when you play on directional and you know these power cards that are really good. But they're still need for experience and not every card plays the same for everybody. Sure you can take these new pitchers but if you don't know how to pitch you're going to get lit up. And let's not talk about all these great cards with horrible swing. You know what's swings you work well with and you can beat a newbie with all the best cards, using a gold Squad, if you are talented with particular swings. Also if you are great with knowing how to pitch to human people and how to find your opponent's weaknesses. You can pitch with lesser pitchers.

Honestly, I'm not hating at all, good for whoever starts in October and has all these options available to them (don't forget Shark Map too). Once I finished the collections I'm gucci, I don't care about anyone else. You're scared of getting beat by a Bronze Level 1 or something?

Worldwide, more than 10% of all marriages are between 1st and 2nd cousins. You can let go of the shame friend.

So, you have your cousins and then your first cousins, then you have your second cousins...

He serious with this post!?!? Made me chuckle a bit. Actually think the cards are going to let a newbie hit in this game. Cmon bro. 2 innings against Chapman and they will go back to Fortnite

I don’t get why it is easier to believe that this games is elaborate enough to completely script every single thing online to the degree that skill does not matter. I’m not the best player but I always feel like I win or lose because of my input. I don’t lose very often to people who have less skill than me and I don’t pay attention to people’s cards because it doesn’t help me win. If I judge a player by his lineup of Topps now cards and non prestige xP level I’m going to play sloppy and lose. For the most part if I go into a game pitching to induce soft contact and stay patient at the plate I’m going to win. I suggest worrying less about other people and focus on your input and approach if you want to win games against the players you get matched up against

It amazes me how people can remember gameplay as far back as MLB16. I just remember gameplay has always had issues every single year, but couldn't tell you what year it was that certain things happened.

For example, do you guys remember when we got constant "freeze-offs?" Felt like it happened every other game whoever disconnected first was issued the loss. Most frustrating thing about it was that if you had the lead, they wouldn't voluntarily disconnect themselves and would leave it that way overnight just to try and get a cheesy win. LOL. Which year was that one?

Also, remember whenever you struck someone out with a pitch in the dirt, the game would freeze allowing the hitter to round the bases and score? So frustrating. LOL. Which year was that one? I can't remember.

Curious if anybody knows the answer to these.
