MLB 20 card format

I hated immortals, liked signatures better but I think the show 20 needs to go back to single year cards to make it the best year they’ve had so far. Mlb 16+17 are my favorite the show games because they didn’t have ridiculous godlike stats

Question, why was SS more acceptable than Immortals?
As dumb ad they were at least immortals where taking the best of a player and putting it into 1 card.
SS is a magically improved version of a player.
Exhibit A. Kerry Woods best season statistically in virtually every category was his Rookie of the year season. Which is the represented by his HW card, yet he miraculously gets a SS card that is even better. Where did SDS come up with this fantasy Kerry Wood?
I know MUT does these things so its becoming common place to see these amped up super cards, but how are they better than immortals when at least there was a rational explanation for how they came to existence.
I hate them both, I would love them to go away, but sadly that isn't going to happen.

I agree. I don't mind some really high overall players (99 Willy Mays...), but the abundance of 99 overall cards made other flashbacks and live series players useless after the first (couple of) month(s). I hope that they don't go overboard with the crazy cards. Example: 99 Kenley Jansen? I mean, yeah he is good, but I'd much rather see an all star/rookie flashback like the delin betances card. What does 99 Kiner add to the game when there is already a 94 rated card? Let's get cards that reflect the players best/most special seasons, with the flaws that that season may have had.

16 & 17: "There's too many 99s. 99 Koji Uehara?!? Give me a **** break!"
18: "Whaaa! Immortals are too grindy, require too many hats & jerseys, and there's not enough lineup diversity!"
19: "There's too much lineup diversity and souped-up stats. Make all the cards worse!"
There's literally no pleasing some folks.

I disliked both immortals and sig series cards. Live series cards shouldn't be an afterthought, Mike Trout should be a 99 overall. Diamonds need to be 90-99, gold 85-89. Silver 75-84, Bronze, 65-74. 15 probably had my favorite format for tiers.

I'm alright with where it's at. Is it unrealistic? Sure. But there's a ton of lineup diversity. Imagine the whining if SDS went back to having cards with 90 power endgame. Who knows if the new hitting engine would even allow the old 99 attribute cap to be effective. For classification, I'll always think of diamonds as 90-99, though.

And that is why it wont go away. They need the juiced up cards to have line up diversity. Or else everyone will have the exact same lineups they did in 17.

Most people that advocate going back to single-season cards don't realize that is mainly what 18 was. There were only a few select immortals, but most cards were single season. People didn't like it and it did not create good lineup diversity.

Most guys that argue against single season cards didn't play before 18 to know what it was like...

People will say that Mike Trout is already an all time great and the best player in the game today but then get upset when you say that his live series card should be a better hitter than Hanley Ramirez, which it isn't.
