Anyone used the CP version that would recommend me picking him up and replace the FotF version. I have very little success with his FotF version. I’m too inconsistent with him after the first 2-3 innings. Thinking maybe that CP card is the Smoltz I really need. I can be easily talked out of that with feedback though.

He's ok, definitely prefer the reliever version, the 99 FOTF wouldn't make my rotation, but he isn't a game-changer, he's just ok

I think I actually like his FotF card better, personally. Last event I used golds to close and him for mop up duty as he's super inconsistent. Too many hanging sliders on perfect timing pitches.

That’s my fear. I do that with his 99 all the time so probably should just stay away from 96 smoltz.. thanks!

I wanted to like the card for sure. Love John Smoltz, and of the original Braves pitcher cards, I liked his 87 overall better than Maddux and Glavine. Just can't make him work and it's baffling because his stats are great.

I personally like the 96 Sig Smoltz. I’ve had good success with him so far but it’s a small sample size. Like what others said, really gotta be careful with hanging sliders or curves. But his splitter/change combo is great but you can get that out of Gagne. If your bullpen is full I’d say pass but if you have the stubs/space in the pen try him out & see if you like him better.

I am not great with fotf Smoltz 14-12 with a 3.24 era. The games I do great with him it's because the guy can't figure out the splitter slider combo I try to throw in those situations he seems dominant. Will be interesting to see how his prestige plays 6 more innings to go! I feel like 98 cy young Gagne would be a cheaper option that would provide good results if you don't have him yet.

The ♦️ FOTF Smoltz has been my best pitcher not named Hershiser.

FOTF Smoltz is not for everyone but I think it’s still one of the best pitchers in the game. Just like any pitcher, you have to stay unpredictable to have success. For everyone it’s different, but I think his starter card is more in line at the top of starters than the reliever card. Just my Personal opinion though

His CP card is better, in my opinion.
