When do you generally try to release?

I used to just tap the button and would get a perfect input while sailing many over the plate

Recently I started holding the button and releasing with the pitchers momentum. I've noticed many more pitches closer to their spot

Just wanted to post my findings

I use pulse as well. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't hold and release any button. I just tap X when the pulsating circle is at it's smallest point.

Yeah i did that too and was givin up lotta meatballs

After the smallest point i hold it and wait until the pitcher im using is at his most velocity then i release

That is correct, the timing is really simple now. Pitchers are easy to command for me

Moved away from it this year; loved it in the past. Too many meatballs that don’t go anywhere near intended. Changed to analog; not a big fan but less of a roll of the dice. The slider especially this year with pulse is rage inducing.

hmmm.....interesting. So when the circle is at it's smallest point you can hold in the X button and depending on when you release the pitch will have more velocity? If this is true I never knew that. I just tap the X button when the circle is at it's smallest point, never knew or tried to hold it in.

Imo it seems to improve results. It will take getting used to and will vary from pitcher to pitcher

I used it until last year, then switched to analog for more control. But this year, the ball never goes where I want regardless of the input...so maybe I’ll switch back.

I'll have to give it a try next time I play. Only thing I've ever done is tap the X button but I'm curious to try it out. Thanks for the tip.

Pulse is the most accurate, by far, this year. I always recommend people learn all inputs, because the "best" varies from year to year.

I never realized you could hold it and then release, I’ve always assumed that you had to press it on the smallest point but I’ll try this out! It does make sense because that’s how meter pitching is.
