No, I'm hitting like .200 in Ranked Seasons. I'm not kidding. I get by on my pitching.
Doesn't matter how good your pitching is if you have good internet. You will be throwing slow pitch softball to these top players with their "magic" internet.
I’ve seen a lot of your posts and agree that internet connection plays a huge part in how the game plays online.
I have fiber with 1000 up and a 1000 down. I know the PlayStation limits this to something much lower. In your opinion do you think I’d be better off going back to WiFi ?
For what it’s worth I’m not bad, but I want the best experience possible.
pS we better be able to see our opponents ping before the start of a game on next gen or I’m going to be pissed. I sit at 25-27
I know my game plays a little better on t-mobile hot spot > wireless > wired (wired is the worst experience). IMO, to have the best experience you want to have a ping around 100 in other games. In PUBG, I have 30 wired and wireless and 60 on hot spot which is still better than most gamers. All speculation since I don't have all the numbers available to me. Let me guess, you have games where you can't react to 95 then some games you can turn on it easily.
Don't pay any attention to Mitch. He has that "magic" internet. If you were to play 100 games at your house and 100 games at Mitch's, you would see a noticeable difference.
Again, I have never or never will claim to be a top player in this game. I just want 95 to look like 95 every game. If I go 100-10 or 10-100, I don't care. I just want a fair game with a level playing field. You simply can't match me in the center of the U.S. with fiber against someone in Florida on wireless and expect it to be a smooth game. I understand as a small company they need to go peer to peer for money purposes but they need ping indicators and better match making. I would rather wait 5 minutes for a smooth, fair game than getting one in 10 seconds where the ball is warping everywhere.

Most of the time a 95 sinker looks like 105 to me

Lemme ask u this. Internet doesn’t impact offline play right? If it doesn’t, then why can I put up a really good score on cotw? That’s a single player mode. That can’t be cuz of my internet. Do u just assume everyone who’s good at the game has bad internet?
-
I suck at hitting. Well fastballs anyway. I just can’t pick it up fast enough to hit them. I’m always late. I have to sit off speed. My last 7 online games 4 were against diamond and 2 prestige and one silver. I’m a silver 70 so yea I get crushed and it’s disheartening. Like matchmaking can’t be that bad or your telling me there’s no one lower available to play
-
Yes, hitting is absurdly easy in this game.

The events boost averages because you don't get many at bats. So 1 hit goes along ways.
-
Hitting on AS is too easy, and hitting on HoF is just a tad bit too difficult for most. I wish Ranked Seasons played somewhere in between.
If having to choose between the two modes as they are, though, and I prefer HoF.
I play my offline franchise on Legend and I absolutely rake. So I think there is a difference between H2H and offline.
-
No... horrible at hitting, team average is .210
I get by with holding teams to 1-2 runs per game max and I’ll usually run into a pitcher mistake and put it in the seats... if I could only get hitting down I’d like to think I’d be a pretty good player. But nope, CANT hit -

Never said you were not a good player. Same as even if ping indicators and better match making was done pitching_rebel would more than likely still be a really good player and adjust to the new settings. I don't think he would be 220-20 or so but I do think he would see some more losses and closer games. You act like I think I would be the number one player in the world if these things were implemented. No, I would not. Not even close but it would be refreshing to play a game where it feels like you are on a level playing field regardless of the outcome.

Nice post. Sheds some light. I can say when I was playing at college Freshman year, UofI has 20mb (100 ping) for residents. About the same at home..maybe a little faster.
I could understand how someone running Fibre Gig at near 1000mg with 30 ping would have a HUGE advantage. Likely those are the 800's?

@Mickdrenalen said in Is everybody hitting .300+:
I’m trying to climb into 700-800 range and just getting shelled by these players with their entire line up hitting like 340-350... like if your that good at hitting why the hell am I facing you in the 600s?? I don’t get it.. is just everybody a freak at hitting this year?
A lot of those numbers are probably inflated because of event games in the past. 99’s against common pitchers was a slugfest.

This is where I disagree with you. Have you seen rebel play? He is elite because of how good his pci placement is. He’s also hard wired btw, along
with every single top player ik. I’m also hard wired. If anything, ping based matchmaking would make the top players stand out even more and mediocre players such as yourself worse. You mention a more even playing field. That would separate those with elite pci placement even more. They’re not there cuz of their internet, they’re there cuz of skill. -

Its about picking up tendencies. If youre consistently late or early on pitches a human will pick up on that, cpu not necessarily

They’re not there cuz of their internet, they’re there cuz of skill. He is basically saying he is a 500 player because of his internet...if that is his excuse I will get him better internet and still watch him get mercied by any DS or above player lol
He thinks worse internet gives players an advantage both at the plate and on the mound

Lemme ask u this. Internet doesn’t impact offline play right? If it doesn’t, then why can I put up a really good score on cotw? That’s a single player mode. That can’t be cuz of my internet. Do u just assume everyone who’s good at the game has bad internet?
Its about picking up tendencies. If youre consistently late or early on pitches a human will pick up on that, cpu not necessarily
That isn’t my point at all.. I think I do fine against real pitchers. My point is that if I’m good cuz of my internet then why are my basic skills including timing and pci placement still just as good offline? My hitting online isn’t cuz of internet, it’s cuz I’ve played a lot and gotten better at reading pitches and placing the pci consistently.

This is where I disagree with you. Have you seen rebel play? He is elite because of how good his pci placement is. He’s also hard wired btw, along

Yo. I just played a WS 12-0 banner player and lost 1-0. Good call there. As you can see in the thread I posted, Lofton got thrown out at home because he wouldn't run when I sent him on the tag. Have still made CS multiple times despite the poor game.
