I know that this may be hard to believe but every once in a while a first baseman will actually start a double play!

We all remember the ongoing joke about how SS Frank had common defense but was the best fielding 1st baseman in the game last year...Well I picked up Frank and have played him in 3 or 4 games and SDS definitely made sure his defense played like his attributes or worse. He is unplayable at 1st. Every game he has had multiple fielding & throwing errors. He is purely a bench bat now. I know some people will say - Good, That’s how he should play. But personally, I like when there are fun little glitches in certain players like Franks defense, Mondesi’s power, ect. Just my opinion.
Common defense Should play like common defense. Throwing errors are 100% user error. Sometimes you have to sacrifice field in for a great hitter. Otherwise put a mediocre hitter with diamond defense there. Problem solved. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Put Diamond Bellinger there and you get the best of both worlds.

With speed

The pendulum swung hard. Last year he was a gold glove 1B in the game who found a way to knock everything down. I just used him in a BR run and the amount of what I thought were routine balls he didn't get to...like it was enough to where I'm never putting him in my RS lineup.

And even last year you noticed a HUGE difference when using one or the other. All those people saying defence didnt matter at first never used a good defender. It made a big difference to me.

Frank Thomas doesn’t need to throw. Big Frank doesn’t let the ball touch the ground. If he is getting a double play, it’s because he snagged a 110 mph line drive 2 feet away from where he should be able to reach while simultaneously tagging the runner out at first with his cat like reflexes.

Ruth makes me miss Belli. Excited for Pujols to come out with gold defense. Or even Helton with diamond defense.

Since the 1980 world series,and the season of it,but the WS is more clear.
and aside from the underhand tosses to the pitcher covering a 1B is in almost no throw situations,

Reading this is really making me think about selecting Johnson. I got the pack yesterday and have not opened it. By far this is the hardest decision, sadly not because i want all 3, but because i don't think much of any of them. I mean Harper is probably the best pick, but with Walker, Mantle and Trout, i just dont see him playing much.
